SRW2016-K9-EU brings fanless Gigabit connectivity to small business networks in a full-width rack-mount chassis. This Layer 2+ managed switch provides 16 dedicated access ports for computers, printers, and servers, with two additional copper uplinks and two copper/SFP combo uplinks. All uplinks are fixed 1G connections, so no uplink card needs to be selected. The Cisco SG300-20 belongs to the Small Business 300 family and supplies data connectivity rather than endpoint power. Phones, cameras, and wireless devices therefore need independent power when connected. The discontinued SRW2024P-K9 adds PoE for retained installations with powered endpoints. Copper or fiber uplink selection must account for the shared media on each combo pair rather than treating both connectors as independent links.

40 Gbps switching capacity provides the throughput reference for sizing aggregate local traffic. 29.76 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packet size gives a separate packet-rate reference for short-frame traffic. Static IPv4 routing connects local VLANs through manually maintained routes, while bridged operation remains available where routing is handled elsewhere. SRW2016-K9-EU carries 128 MB of memory and 16 MB of flash for its embedded management software and firmware storage. Browser configuration and Cisco Textview provide graphical and text-based administration; SSH and SNMPv3 protect remote management sessions. RADIUS, TACACS+, and a local authentication database support administrator access control. 23.3W worst-case consumption at 220V gives the electrical-load figure for facility planning rather than an endpoint-power allowance. Operation from 0°C to 40°C defines the ambient range for installation, while the internal universal supply accepts 100-240V AC.
ORM Systems offers SRW2016-K9-EU new sealed and certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units; Cisco's former limited lifetime coverage ended October 31, 2023. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, and optics bay recognition, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition and quantity on the PO; returns are available for 30 days on every condition, terms apply. POs are accepted, government buyers have Net-30, and RMA with advance replacement is available for enterprise and volume orders.

A branch rollout with mixed-language support teams can use the SG300-20 interface in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, or simplified Chinese. Those seven language options let sites retain their preferred administration language. Before issuing a multi-site PO, specify the required interface language and confirm the complete regional ordering code.
A staging project that must validate IPv6 endpoint controls can exercise ND inspection, RA guard, DHCPv6 guard, and neighbor binding integrity checks before configurations reach production. Keep these checks separate from forwarding-throughput acceptance. Specify the intended firmware baseline and the required security configuration on the staging order.
PoE power for connected endpoints
SRW2016-K9-EU supplies data connectivity only and cannot power phones, cameras, or access points through Ethernet. Specify separate endpoint power for those devices.
10G connections to upstream switches
SRW2016-K9-EU uplinks operate at 1G, including the shared SFP connections. Installing an optical transceiver does not turn these connections into 10G uplinks.
Active Cisco hardware support coverage
Cisco support for SRW2016-K9-EU ended October 31, 2023. C1300-16T-2G is the current migration endpoint with 16 Gigabit access ports but two dedicated SFP uplinks instead of four uplink connections.

SRW2016-K9-EU identifies the Cisco SG300-20 20-port Gigabit managed switch, built around the SRW2016-K9 hardware code. The complete EU-suffixed ordering form retains 16 dedicated access ports, two copper uplinks, and two copper/SFP combo uplinks. The numerical hardware code should not be read as the total connection count.
SRW2016-K9-EU supports a web interface, Cisco Textview text configuration, serial access, and SNMP management. SSH and SNMPv3 provide protected management sessions. Administrator authentication can use RADIUS, TACACS+, or the local database, so the access method and authentication backend can be specified independently.
No, SRW2016-K9-EU does not supply PoE to connected devices. The access connections carry Ethernet data, so a phone, camera, or wireless access point requiring power through its network cable needs a separate power arrangement. Do not allocate an endpoint-power budget to this model when preparing the order.
SRW2016-K9-EU has two dedicated copper uplinks and two 1G copper/SFP combo uplinks. Each combo pair uses one physical medium at a time. Fiber connections can use MGBSX1 for multimode fiber or MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber; specify the separately ordered optics to match the installed cable plant.
Yes, SRW2016-K9-EU supports static IPv4 routing between VLANs when configured for routed operation. Routes are maintained manually rather than learned through dynamic routing peers. The routing mode, VLAN interfaces, and return paths need to match the intended network design before the switch is placed into service.
Yes, the Cisco SG300-20 fits a standard rack as a 1U switch with a 440 mm-wide chassis. The enclosure measures 44.45 mm high and 202.5 mm deep and weighs 2.17 kg. New packaging includes a mounting kit, so the chassis does not require a desktop mounting shelf.
The Cisco SG300-20 uses an internal universal AC power supply accepting 100-240V AC, rather than an external adapter. A redundant internal supply is not available. Worst-case consumption reaches 23.3W at 220V, which is the switch's electrical demand and not an allowance for powering attached devices.
SRW2016-K9-EU reached end of sale on October 4, 2018, and Cisco support ended October 31, 2023. The original replacement, SG350-20-K9-EU, and its successor, CBS350-16T-2G-EU, are also discontinued. The current migration endpoint is C1300-16T-2G, which uses two dedicated 1G SFP uplinks.
ORM Systems offers SRW2016-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Returns cover 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty ended with Cisco support on October 31, 2023.
SRW2024P-K9 supplies PoE, while SRW2016-K9-EU does not deliver endpoint power. Both belong to the discontinued Cisco 300 Series, so this is a retained-estate comparison rather than a current-product migration. The PoE model addresses powered endpoints; the non-PoE model suits devices with their own supplies.
SRW2016-K9-EU has an internal AC supply, whereas SRW2008-K9, the SG300-10, uses an external power adapter. Both are discontinued models. The internal-supply model suits retained racks using direct AC connections; the external-adapter model fits existing adapter-based installations, subject to its different port density.
C1300-16T-2G has two dedicated 1G SFP uplinks, whereas SRW2016-K9-EU has two copper uplinks and two copper/SFP combo uplinks. The Catalyst 1300 model is the current endpoint of the replacement chain; the older switch is beyond Cisco support. The newer model suits migration; the older connection layout serves like-for-like sparing.
