256 Gbps switching capacity and 190.48 Mpps forwarding provide the standalone throughput figures; switching capacity with stacking is 736 Gbps. The forwarding silicon is UADP 2.0. C9300-48H-E has 8 GB DRAM, 16 GB flash, a 16 MB packet buffer, and a 32000-entry MAC table. The hardware IPv4 total is 32000 routes, distinct from the Network Essentials OSPF limit of 1000 routes. The switch aggregates 48 powered copper endpoints and hands northbound traffic to distribution through a separately selected modular uplink. Optional secondary power supplies and StackPower planning protect high-demand endpoint groups. The closet gains higher endpoint density with simpler administration and predictable stack-level recovery behavior.
A powered-endpoint rollout needs a cabling check before hardware quantities are finalized. Copper connections have a 100 m maximum channel length; UPOE+ cabling guidance allocates 90 m to solid cable and two 5 m patch connections. Specify cable construction and patch lengths before the PO.
A staging order that includes C9300-NM-8X needs installation checks beyond matching the connector. The card cannot be fully seated until its jackscrew is tightened while gently pressing the module inward. Specify the module separately and include seating verification in the acceptance checklist before releasing the PO.
BGP routing without a license upgrade
Network Essentials excludes BGP. C9300-48H-A provides Network Advantage on the same 48-port UPOE+ configuration; specify that license tier when BGP is required.

C9300-48H-E identifies a Catalyst 9300 with 48 Gigabit copper ports, UPOE+, modular uplinks, and Network Essentials. C9300 identifies the family, 48 the access-port quantity, H the UPOE+ configuration, and E the network license. There is no separate fixed-uplink code in this PID.
The Catalyst 9300 supports a web interface and CLI through RJ-45 or USB console connections. Cisco Catalyst Center provides centralized management, and Meraki dashboard management is available with supported software and licensing. Specify the intended management mode and associated entitlements before ordering.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 9300. C9300-48H-E has no announced hardware retirement milestone in that series. C9300-48H-E-RF is a Cisco-remanufactured ordering variant, not a successor and not the same condition designation as ORM Systems certified refurbished hardware.
