Fanless Network Access for Small Business Offices

SF350-24-K9 combines fanless operation with 24 10/100 access ports and four fixed Gigabit uplinks in a managed Layer 2+ rack-mount switch. Two uplinks are dedicated SFP slots, while the other two provide copper/SFP combo connections. The non-PoE configuration connects separately powered devices rather than supplying endpoint power. Within the Cisco 350 Series Managed Switches, this model serves small-business networks retaining Fast Ethernet at the access edge while using Gigabit connections upstream. SF350-24P-K9-NA adds PoE+ for powered endpoints, but that sibling is also discontinued. Copper access connections use Category 5 or better cabling; Gigabit copper connections require Category 5e or better. The uplink interfaces are built in, with no removable network module required.

Technical Details

12.8 Gbps switching capacity and 9.52 Mpps forwarding at 64-byte packets define traffic handling across the interfaces. Static IPv4 routing supports 990 routes and 128 IP interfaces, while PBR directs selected traffic using IPv4 or IPv6 access-control rules. These are static-routing functions rather than a dynamic routing control plane. SF350-24-K9 uses 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for control-plane operation and image storage. The Cisco SF350-24 shares a 1.5 MB packet buffer across its ports. STP/RSTP/MSTP and LACP provide loop control and link aggregation, supporting eight aggregation groups with eight active ports per group. Browser configuration, console access, SSH, Telnet, and SNMP support local or remote administration. A 16000-entry MAC address table accommodates learned endpoint addresses, and 4094 simultaneous VLANs support traffic segmentation. The internal AC supply accepts 100-240V; 10.9W worst-case system consumption informs power allocation without an endpoint PoE load.

Ordering

Order SF350-24-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, specifying the regional power cord and accessory quantities. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, including optics bay recognition; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty is bounded by January 31, 2028, its last support date. Enterprise and volume POs are accepted, with Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

Buying Notes

Buying NotesKey Specs

Current migration ordering

New-design orders should specify C1300-24T-4G rather than the discontinued CBS350-24T-4G-NA. SF350-24-K9-NA is also discontinued; its January 29, 2023 end-of-sale milestone concerns Cisco ordering rather than remaining reseller inventory.

Fiber transceivers ordered separately

Fiber uplink orders need separate transceivers matched to the installed fiber: MGBSX1 for multimode or MGBLX1 for single-mode. Include the selected transceiver PID and required quantity on the purchase order.

Best For

Legacy Inventory Replacement

Existing SRW224G4-K9-NA installations can use SF350-24-K9-NA as the historical migration match when retaining a legacy access design. Both models are discontinued, and the predecessor's end-of-sale date was October 4, 2018. Before the PO, compare saved configurations and confirm that continued use of discontinued hardware fits the purchasing requirement.

Multi-Site Configuration Staging

When several sites need the same configuration baseline, text-editable configuration files and SCP downloads provide a common staging method. CLI privilege levels 1, 7, and 15 separate operator access during preparation. Specify the configuration baseline, administrator roles, and staging quantities before issuing the purchase order.

Packet Capture Bench

When a lab or troubleshooting bench needs packet visibility, port mirroring can direct traffic from eight source ports to one destination. Only one mirroring session is supported. Check whether the proposed analyzer arrangement fits that limit, and specify the capture-port assignment before the purchase order.

Not Suitable If

Gigabit speed on every endpoint

SF350-24-K9 limits its access ports to 100 Mbps. C1300-24T-4G provides 24 Gigabit access ports for purchases requiring a current replacement with faster endpoint connections.

Power delivery to connected endpoints

SF350-24-K9 does not supply PoE to attached devices. C1300-24P-4G is the current PoE migration option and also changes the access-port speed from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit Ethernet.

Questions & Answers

What does the SF350-24-K9 part number identify?

SF350-24-K9 identifies the non-PoE, 24-port Fast Ethernet member of the Cisco 350 Series Managed Switches. SF350 corresponds to the Fast Ethernet model group, and 24 denotes access-port count. Regional forms include SF350-24-K9-NA for North America and SF350-24-K9-EU for listed European and other markets.

How is SF350-24-K9 managed?

SF350-24-K9 supports an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, full or menu-based CLI through the RJ-45 console or SSH/Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. Additional management paths include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded probe, Cisco Active Advisor, and provisioning through Cisco Network Plug and Play with PnP Connect.

How many uplinks does SF350-24-K9 have?

SF350-24-K9 has four Gigabit uplinks: two dedicated SFP ports and two copper/SFP combo ports. Each combo pair allows only one active connection at a time. The copper and SFP connections within a pair therefore do not provide two independent uplinks, and none of these uplinks supports 10G.

Which fiber optics fit the Cisco 350 Series uplinks?

MGBSX1 and MGBLX1 fit the Cisco 350 Series SFP uplinks for multimode and single-mode fiber, respectively. MGBSX1 supports distances to 500 m, while MGBLX1 supports distances to 10 km. Match the transceivers at both ends to the fiber type, link distance, and intended Gigabit connection.

What routing capabilities does SF350-24-K9 provide?

SF350-24-K9 supports static IPv4 routing with 990 routes, 128 IP interfaces, IPv6 routing, and PBR. The switch can route between configured interfaces without requiring a dynamic routing protocol. Treat the route count as the static-routing ceiling and check the intended addressing and next-hop plan before purchase.

Is SF350-24-K9 a full-width rack-mount switch?

Yes, SF350-24-K9 has a full-width 1U chassis measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high, and 202 mm deep. The unit weighs 2.72 kg and uses fanless cooling. Confirm rack depth and cable clearance when matching the switch to an existing cabinet.

How is the Cisco SF350-24 powered?

The Cisco SF350-24 uses an internal universal AC supply accepting 100-240V at 50-60 Hz. Worst-case system consumption reaches 10.9W at 220V. The switch needs its own AC power feed; connected Ethernet devices require separate power arrangements because this model does not supply PoE.

What is the lifecycle status of SF350-24-K9?

SF350-24-K9 is discontinued; the North American SF350-24-K9-NA reached end of sale on January 29, 2023, with last support on January 31, 2028. Its immediate replacement, CBS350-24T-4G-NA, is also discontinued. C1300-24T-4G is the current endpoint of that replacement chain for new migration purchases.

Which older switches did SF350-24-K9 replace?

SF350-24-K9 regional forms replaced SRW224G4-K9-CN, SRW224G4-K9-EU, SRW224G4-K9-JP, SRW224G4-K9-NA, and SRW224G4-K9-UK, whose end-of-sale date was October 4, 2018. SF350-24-K9-CN also replaced SF350-08-K9-CN and SF352-08-K9-CN, both withdrawn from sale on June 5, 2020. These are historical migration matches; the SF350-24 hardware is itself discontinued.

What condition and warranty options does ORM offer for SF350-24-K9?

ORM offers SF350-24-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns are 30 days for either condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty ends no later than January 31, 2028, subject to its eligibility terms.

What is the difference between SF350-24-K9 and SF350-24P-K9-NA?

SF350-24P-K9-NA supplies PoE+ from a shared 185W budget, whereas SF350-24-K9 has no PoE output. Both switches have 24 Fast Ethernet access ports, but the powered sibling needs endpoint-load sizing. Both are discontinued: the non-PoE model serves separately powered devices, while the powered model addresses existing PoE installations.

What is the difference between SF350-24-K9 and SF350-48-K9-NA?

SF350-48-K9-NA provides 48 Fast Ethernet access ports, compared with 24 on SF350-24-K9. Both models are discontinued, so this comparison concerns legacy inventory and replacement matching. The smaller model fits existing groups within its access-port count; the larger model accommodates denser Fast Ethernet connection requirements.

What is the difference between SF350-24-K9 and C1300-24T-4G?

C1300-24T-4G provides 24 Gigabit access ports where SF350-24-K9 provides 24 Fast Ethernet access ports. The discontinued SF350 model addresses like-for-like legacy replacement demand, while the current Catalyst 1300 model suits new purchases requiring Gigabit endpoint links. Check endpoint speed requirements before choosing between the two.
