Fanless Fiber Connectivity for Small Business Networks

SG350-10SFP-K9 is a fanless managed Gigabit fiber switch combining eight dedicated SFP slots with two fixed Gigabit copper/SFP combo connections. Its Layer 2+ feature set and desktop chassis serve small-business networks where fiber connectivity, rather than powered copper access, defines the hardware requirement. The Cisco 350 Series Managed Switches family includes browser-based configuration and command-line administration for locally managed installations. Each combo connection uses either its copper interface or its SFP cage, not both simultaneously, giving the chassis ten active network connections. The discontinued SG350-10P-K9-NA differs by providing PoE+ on copper access ports; this model supplies no endpoint power. The fixed connections also prevent adding a faster uplink card later, so the required link speeds must be settled before purchase.

SG350-10SFP-K9 price for new stock is $362.25. SG350-10SFP-K9 refurb price is $955.64. SG350-10SFP-K9 is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

Technical Details

20 Gbps switching capacity provides nonblocking forwarding across the available connections, while 14.88 Mpps forwarding applies to 64-byte packets. 990 static IPv4 routes and 128 IP interfaces accommodate local inter-VLAN routing; PBR provides additional next-hop control without dynamic route exchange. SG350-10SFP-K9 carries 512 MB DRAM and 256 MB flash for its operating software and configuration storage. A dynamically shared 1.5 MB packet buffer serves traffic across all ports rather than reserving a separate allocation for each connection. STP/RSTP/MSTP provide loop-control options, and the MAC address table accommodates 16000 entries. The SG350-10SFP also supports SNMP monitoring, authenticated administrative access and encrypted HTTPS sessions. 11.9W worst-case consumption at 220V AC provides the upper published draw for electrical planning. An external AC adapter supplies the chassis; the hardware does not form a physical stack. These limits distinguish centralized administration from shared stack forwarding and keep power planning separate from endpoint-power requirements.

Ordering

Specify SG350-10SFP-K9 in new sealed or certified refurbished condition on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed port links, clean boot, optics bay recognition and rated adapter output; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides new units with up to a 3-year extended warranty and certified refurbished units with up to 1 year, plus 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply, while Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty ends July 31, 2027. POs are accepted, government buyers have Net-30, and volume requirements can include UK, EU, US and MEA stock and RMA with advance replacement.

Buying Notes

Buying NotesKey Specs

Replacement chain has ended

SG350-10SFP-K9 has no current successor in its replacement chain: CBS350-8S-E-2G-NA is also discontinued, with no further migration product available. A new-product refresh therefore requires separate hardware qualification rather than automatic substitution.

Specify fiber transceivers separately

Fiber connections for SG350-10SFP-K9 require transceivers matched to the installed cable and distance. Specify MGBSX1 for supported multimode links or MGBLX1 for supported single-mode links, and identify the required quantities on the order.

Best For

Legacy Fiber Refresh

An existing SG300-10SFP-K9-NA installation being refreshed to its named replacement calls for a review of link media and saved configuration. The older model reached end-of-sale on October 4, 2018. Record the installed optics, interface assignments and configuration requirements before specifying the replacement order.

Regional Procurement

A rollout covering US and UK locations needs regional ordering forms resolved before units are allocated. SG350-10SFP-K9-NA is the US form, while SG350-10SFP-K9-UK serves the United Kingdom. Put the destination and complete regional identifier on each purchase-order line rather than relying on the unsuffixed catalog identifier.

Jumbo Frame Staging

A staging exercise involving larger Ethernet frames needs an explicit frame-size acceptance test before production allocation. The switch supports frames up to 9 KB, while the default MTU is 2 KB. Include the intended frame-size configuration and end-to-end interoperability checks in the purchase acceptance requirements.

Not Suitable If

10G fiber uplinks

SG350-10SFP-K9 has 1G SFP and combo connections, with no removable uplink card. A 10G requirement cannot be met by changing transceivers.

Power for connected endpoints

SG350-10SFP-K9 provides no PoE output. Connected phones, cameras or wireless access points cannot receive their operating power from this switch's Ethernet interfaces.

A single physical switch stack

SG350-10SFP-K9 does not support hardware stacking. Network-level administration can cover multiple devices, but it does not combine these switches into one physical forwarding stack.

Questions & Answers

What does the SG350-10SFP-K9 part number mean?

SG350-10SFP-K9 identifies a Cisco 350 Series managed Gigabit SFP switch: SG350 names the family, 10 represents ten active connections, and SFP identifies the fiber-oriented configuration. Eight connections are dedicated SFP slots and two are copper/SFP combo ports. The complete US regional ordering form is SG350-10SFP-K9-NA.

How is SG350-10SFP-K9 managed?

SG350-10SFP-K9 supports an HTTP/HTTPS web interface, Textview CLI through console or network access, SSH, Telnet and SNMP. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded probe, and Cisco Active Advisor. These administration paths do not make the hardware stackable or combine separate switches into one forwarding chassis.

Is SG350-10SFP-K9 discontinued?

SG350-10SFP-K9 is discontinued: end-of-sale was July 30, 2022, and Cisco support ends July 31, 2027. Software maintenance ended July 30, 2023. Its named replacement, CBS350-8S-E-2G-NA, is also discontinued and has no current migration product, so that replacement must not be treated as a current-production alternative.

What condition and warranty options does ORM offer for SG350-10SFP-K9?

ORM offers SG350-10SFP-K9 new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty remains subject to eligibility and ends with Cisco support on July 31, 2027.

Which older switches does SG350-10SFP-K9 replace?

SG350-10SFP-K9 replaces the discontinued SG300-10SFP-K9-EU, SG300-10SFP-K9-NA and SG300-10SFP-K9-UK through their corresponding regional forms. Those predecessor models reached end-of-sale on October 4, 2018. An existing installation still needs its optics, saved configuration and regional power connection checked before a replacement unit is specified.

Does SG350-10SFP-K9 provide PoE?

SG350-10SFP-K9 does not provide PoE, so none of its network connections can power an attached endpoint. Its copper interfaces are the RJ-45 halves of two combo connections, not powered access ports. Specify endpoint power separately rather than including this switch in a PoE power budget.

How many connections can the Cisco SG350-10SFP use simultaneously?

The Cisco SG350-10SFP supports ten simultaneous network connections: eight dedicated Gigabit SFP connections and two Gigabit combo connections. Each combo pair activates either its RJ-45 interface or its SFP interface. Populating both physical interfaces of a combo pair does not create an additional usable network port.

Can SG350-10SFP-K9 route between VLANs?

SG350-10SFP-K9 supports static IPv4 routing with 990 routes and 128 IP interfaces, plus PBR for next-hop selection. Its Layer 2+ classification reflects static rather than dynamic routing. Size the required routes and routed interfaces before purchase, and do not assume that a managed switch includes dynamic route exchange.

Which fiber transceivers work with the Cisco SG350-10SFP?

The Cisco SG350-10SFP supports MGBSX1 for multimode fiber up to 500 m, MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber up to 10 km, and MGBLH1 for single-mode fiber up to 40 km. Match the selected transceiver to the cable, remote interface and link distance rather than selecting only by cage type.

What power connection and form factor does SG350-10SFP-K9 use?

SG350-10SFP-K9 uses an external AC adapter accepting 100-240V AC and has a desktop chassis measuring 279.4 mm wide, 44 mm high and 170 mm deep. Its weight is 2.08 kg. Reserve space for both the switch and its adapter, and confirm the required regional power connection before ordering.

What is the difference between SG350-10SFP-K9 and SG350-10P-K9-NA?

SG350-10P-K9-NA provides a shared 62W PoE+ budget, while SG350-10SFP-K9 supplies no endpoint power. The PoE model uses copper access ports rather than eight dedicated fiber slots. Both models are discontinued; the former serves existing powered-copper requirements, while the latter serves existing Gigabit fiber connections.

What is the difference between SG350-10SFP-K9 and SG350-20-K9-NA?

SG350-10SFP-K9 uses an external AC adapter, whereas SG350-20-K9-NA has an internal AC power supply. The latter also changes the connection mix to sixteen copper access ports with additional Gigabit connections. Both are discontinued: choose the former for existing fiber requirements and the latter only where its copper layout is required.

What is the difference between SG350-10SFP-K9 and SG350-28SFP-K9-NA?

SG350-28SFP-K9-NA provides twenty-four dedicated SFP access slots, compared with eight on SG350-10SFP-K9. Including their additional connections, the models support twenty-eight and ten active ports respectively. Both are discontinued; the smaller model fits an existing low-density fiber requirement, while the larger model addresses substantially more fiber terminations.
