Managed Copper Connectivity for Small Business Networks

SG350-52-K9-EU is a Layer 2+ managed switch with 48 dedicated Gigabit copper access ports and four fixed Gigabit uplinks: two dedicated SFP connections and two copper/SFP combo connections. The non-PoE design serves locally powered desktops, printers and servers in a Rack-Mount 1U chassis. Within the Cisco 350 Series, this configuration combines high copper port density with a choice of copper or fiber uplink media, without requiring a removable uplink card. Each combo connection uses either its copper connector or its SFP cage, not both simultaneously. The discontinued SG350-52P-K9-EU differs by adding PoE+ for powered endpoints. Cisco Small Business management features provide configurable traffic segmentation and access controls rather than unmanaged operation.

Technical Details

104 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking forwarding across the installed interfaces, while 77.38 Mpps forwarding handles minimum-size packets at the published wire-speed rate. Static routing supports communication between network segments, with 990 IPv4 static routes and 128 IP interfaces available; PBR directs selected traffic toward a chosen next hop. Dynamic routing is not part of this configuration. SG350-52-K9-EU has 512 MB of DRAM and 256 MB of flash for its managed software environment, alongside a 3 MB packet buffer shared across ports. STP, RSTP and MSTP provide loop-control options, and LACP groups links for aggregated connections. Browser administration supports HTTP/HTTPS, while Textview CLI, SSH and SNMP provide terminal and management-station access. Dual software images retain an alternate image during firmware maintenance, and the USB Type-A interface supports local file and image handling. Traffic prioritization includes eight hardware queues with strict-priority or Weighted Round-Robin scheduling.

Ordering

Specify SG350-52-K9-EU as new sealed or certified refurbished, with the required condition, quantity, regional power cord and optics on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, optics bay recognition, PSU status, fan status and clean boot; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Enterprise and volume orders can use POs, government Net-30, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock/RMA coverage across UK, EU, US and MEA.

Best For

Legacy Hardware Sparing

An existing SRW2048-K9-EU installation creates a replacement or sparing requirement around an established managed Gigabit network. This switch replaces that discontinued predecessor, but configuration transfer still requires checking interface assignments, VLAN membership and uplink media. Specify the exact regional PID and the required condition before issuing the PO.

Branch Configuration Rollout

A branch rollout using centralized provisioning can use the Cisco Network Plug and Play agent with Cisco PnP Connect. That provisioning path is separate from ordinary browser configuration and needs preparation before equipment reaches the site. Specify the provisioning workflow, configuration ownership and staging responsibilities on the purchase order.

Not Suitable If

Power delivery to connected endpoints

SG350-52-K9-EU supplies no PoE power. C1300-48P-4G provides 48 Gigabit PoE access ports with four 1G SFP uplinks when endpoint power must come from the switch.

10G uplinks to distribution

SG350-52-K9-EU uplinks operate at Gigabit speeds. C1300-48T-4X retains 48 Gigabit access ports while providing four 10G SFP+ uplinks for a faster distribution connection.

Cisco support beyond October 2026

SG350-52-K9-EU reaches its last support date on October 31, 2026. C1300-48T-4G is the current migration endpoint; the intermediate CBS350-48T-4G-EU is also discontinued.

Questions & Answers

What does SG350-52-K9-EU mean?

SG350-52-K9-EU is the EU-region ordering form of the SG350-52 Gigabit managed switch. SG350 identifies the Gigabit 350 Series family, 52 denotes total system ports, and EU identifies the regional version. Connectivity comprises 48 dedicated copper ports, two copper/SFP combo uplinks and two dedicated SFP uplinks.

How is SG350-52-K9-EU managed?

SG350-52-K9-EU supports an HTTP/HTTPS web UI, Textview CLI over console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP versions 1, 2c or 3. Network-level options include Cisco Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with its embedded probe, and Cisco Active Advisor. The browser interface includes simple and advanced modes.

What is the lifecycle status of SG350-52-K9-EU?

SG350-52-K9-EU ended sale on October 30, 2021, and reaches its last date of support on October 31, 2026. Software maintenance ended October 30, 2022. The direct replacement, CBS350-48T-4G-EU, is also discontinued; the forward migration chain ends at C1300-48T-4G, rather than the intermediate CBS350 model.

What condition and warranty options does ORM Systems offer for SG350-52-K9-EU?

ORM Systems offers SG350-52-K9-EU new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate limited lifetime hardware warranty is subject to eligibility and ends no later than the last support date, October 31, 2026.

Which older switch does SG350-52-K9-EU replace?

SG350-52-K9-EU replaces the discontinued SRW2048-K9-EU, sold as the SG300-52 Gigabit managed switch. That replacement relationship identifies the hardware migration path, not a guarantee that an existing configuration can be copied unchanged. Check interface assignments, uplink connections and management settings when preparing the replacement order.

Which fiber transceivers work with SG350-52-K9-EU?

SG350-52-K9-EU supports MGBSX1 for multimode fiber to 500 m and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber to 10 km. Additional supported options include MGBLH1, GLC-LH-SMD and GLC-BX-U. Select optics for the installed fiber and remote interface; the fixed SFP connections remain Gigabit links rather than 10G uplinks.

Can SG350-52-K9-EU form a hardware stack?

No, SG350-52-K9-EU operates as a standalone switch rather than a hardware-stack member. Cisco Smart Network Application can manage multiple devices at the network level, but that does not combine their forwarding hardware into one stack. Order individual switches and Ethernet interconnections rather than dedicated stacking accessories.

What routing capabilities does the Cisco 350 Series provide?

The Cisco 350 Series provides static IPv4 routing with 990 static routes and 128 IP interfaces, plus IPv6 routing and PBR. SG350-52-K9-EU therefore fits the Layer 2+ classification used here. Routed interfaces can be configured on physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLAN interfaces or loopback interfaces.

Does SG350-52-K9-EU support redundant power supplies?

No, SG350-52-K9-EU uses a single internal AC supply rather than redundant PSU modules. The input accepts 100-240V AC, and worst-case consumption at 110V AC is 40.4W. The internal supply powers the switch itself; connected endpoints require their own power because this model does not provide PoE.

Is the Cisco 350 Series SG350-52 a full-width rack switch?

Yes, the Cisco 350 Series SG350-52 is a full-width Rack-Mount 1U switch measuring 440 mm wide, 44 mm high and 257 mm deep. The chassis weighs 2.75 kg and contains one cooling fan. Confirm mounting hardware and clearance when specifying the equipment and condition on the purchase order.

What is the difference between SG350-52-K9-EU and SG350-52P-K9-EU?

SG350-52-K9-EU provides no PoE, while SG350-52P-K9-EU adds 48 PoE+ access ports sharing a 375W power budget. Both are discontinued models. The non-PoE version serves locally powered equipment; the powered version is relevant when matching an existing PoE installation or maintaining like-for-like spares.

What is the difference between SG350-52-K9-EU and SG350-28-K9-EU?

SG350-52-K9-EU has 48 dedicated Gigabit copper access ports, compared with 24 on SG350-28-K9-EU. Both retain two copper/SFP combo uplinks and two dedicated SFP uplinks, and both are discontinued. The larger model addresses higher copper connection counts; the smaller model matches lower-density existing installations.

What is the difference between SG350-52-K9-EU and C1300-48T-4G?

SG350-52-K9-EU combines two dedicated SFP uplinks with two copper/SFP combo uplinks, whereas C1300-48T-4G provides four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks. Both provide 48 Gigabit copper access ports. The discontinued SG350 model supports legacy matching; C1300-48T-4G is the current migration endpoint for a replacement purchase.
