Powered Business Access With Copper and Fiber Connectivity

SG350X-48MP-K9 is a managed Layer 2+ access switch with 48 Gigabit PoE+ ports and four fixed 10G uplinks for small-business networks. Two uplinks are dedicated SFP+ connections; the other two are copper/SFP+ combo pairs, with one medium active in each pair. The 350X Series Stackable Managed Switches family serves phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras from a 1U rack chassis rather than a desktop enclosure. The discontinued SG350X-48P-K9-NA has a lower shared PoE allocation, so the MP variant matters when matching an existing powered-device plan. Copper and optical aggregation are both available without adding an uplink card.

SG350X-48MP-K9 price for new stock is $3,354.75. SG350X-48MP-K9 refurb price is $550.94. SG350X-48MP-K9 is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

Technical Details

176 Gbps switching capacity supports wire-speed, nonblocking switching across the installed interfaces. 130.94 Mpps forwarding performance describes processing of 64-byte packets. 740W of shared PoE power supplies endpoint loads; eight access ports support 60W PoE and the other powered ports support 30W. Static IPv4 and IPv6 routing handles explicitly configured inter-VLAN paths rather than dynamic route exchange. SG350X-48MP-K9 combines 512 MB of DRAM, 256 MB of flash and a dynamically shared 3 MB packet buffer for control software, image storage and packet queuing. The MAC address table accommodates 16000 entries, while browser management, console access, SSH, Telnet and SNMP provide local and remote administration. STP, RSTP and MSTP handle loop prevention, and LACP supports link aggregation. Within Cisco Small Business switching, the routing ceiling is 990 IPv4 static routes and 128 IP interfaces; routes must be explicitly configured.

Ordering

SG350X-48MP-K9 is available new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition, regional variant and required accessories on the purchase order. ORM warranties cover new units up to a 3-year extended term and certified refurbished units up to 1 year, with 30-day returns for every condition, terms apply; Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty and service end October 31, 2026. Enterprise and volume orders support PO acceptance, government Net-30 and RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA stock/RMA regions.

Buying Notes

Buying NotesKey Specs

Software maintenance has ended

SG350X-48MP-K9 no longer receives software maintenance releases, which ended October 30, 2022. For purchases requiring an ongoing software path, specify C1300-48FP-4X rather than the discontinued intermediate replacement CBS350-48FP-4X-NA.

Size aggregate endpoint power

SG350X-48MP-K9 requires an endpoint power schedule: 40 × 30W plus 8 × 60W equals 1680W at all-port maxima. Size aggregate connected-device demand against the shared allocation rather than assuming simultaneous maximum output.

Separate incompatible stack families

SG350X hardware stacking cannot mix Sx350 and Sx550 devices in one stack. Confirm the existing members before adding hardware; sharing a vendor or a stacking-capable enclosure does not establish stack compatibility.

Match optics to installed fiber

SG350X-48MP-K9 requires optics matched to the installed fiber: SFP-10G-SR= supports multimode connections and SFP-10G-LR= supports single-mode connections. Specify the required transceivers and compatible media at both link ends on the purchase order.

Best For

Legacy Hardware Refresh

When replacing a discontinued SF550X-48MP-K9-NA installation, the purchase starts with an older 10/100 access design rather than a greenfield requirement. Preserve an inventory of connected devices, cable runs and existing stack connections, then specify the regional ordering variant, required accessories and condition before releasing the PO.

Multi-Site Provisioning

For a multi-site rollout, Cisco Network Plug and Play supports provisioning through a defined server and transport configuration. Treat device-specific settings and security credentials as part of staging rather than assuming every location uses identical values. Specify the provisioning server, transport method and regional ordering variant before the PO.

Stack Expansion Planning

When extending an existing stack, the interconnect layout becomes part of the hardware order. A ring connects the last member back to the first, while a chain leaves those ends unconnected. Confirm the intended topology, available interconnect ports and cable lengths before specifying the additional switch and connection accessories.

Not Suitable If

Multigigabit connections for access endpoints

SG350X-48MP-K9 access connections stop at 1Gbps; 2.5G and 5G endpoint connections are unavailable. Its higher-speed interfaces are uplinks, not multigigabit access ports.

Dynamic routing between network segments

SG350X-48MP-K9 provides static IPv4 and IPv6 routing, not dynamic route exchange. Networks requiring automatically learned routes need a different switch or a separate routing device.

Cisco support beyond October 2026

SG350X-48MP-K9 reaches its last support date on October 31, 2026. C1300-48FP-4X is the current forward replacement after the discontinued CBS350-48FP-4X-NA.

Questions & Answers

What does the SG350X-48MP-K9 part number identify?

SG350X-48MP-K9 identifies the 350X managed Gigabit model with 48 access ports and a 740W PoE allocation. SG350X names the model family, 48 identifies access-port density, and MP distinguishes the higher-power model. The complete regional form SG350X-48MP-K9-NA serves the United States; regional endings identify country-specific ordering variants.

How is SG350X-48MP-K9 managed?

SG350X-48MP-K9 supports HTTP/HTTPS browser management, full or menu CLI over console, SSH or Telnet, and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. Network-level options include Smart Network Application, FindIT Network Manager with an embedded FindIT Network Probe, FindIT Network Discovery Utility, Active Advisor, and Cisco Network Plug and Play with PnP Connect.

What is the lifecycle status of SG350X-48MP-K9?

SG350X-48MP-K9 is discontinued, with an end-of-sale date of October 30, 2021 and a last support date of October 31, 2026. Software maintenance ended October 30, 2022. The original replacement CBS350-48FP-4X-NA is also discontinued; the forward replacement chain now leads to C1300-48FP-4X.

What condition and warranty does ORM offer for SG350X-48MP-K9?

SG350X-48MP-K9 is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with ORM's up to 3-year extended new warranty or up to 1-year refurbished warranty. Every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's limited lifetime hardware warranty is separate and ends no later than the October 31, 2026 last support date.

Which older switches does SG350X-48MP-K9 replace?

SG350X-48MP-K9 replaces the discontinued SF550X-48MP-K9-AU, SF550X-48MP-K9-EU, SF550X-48MP-K9-NA and SF550X-48MP-K9-UK regional variants. Those older switches reached end of sale on June 18, 2020 and provided 10/100 access ports. The replacement relationship is regional, so existing inventory records need the complete ordering identifiers rather than only a shortened model name.

How much PoE power does SG350X-48MP-K9 provide?

SG350X-48MP-K9 provides a shared 740W PoE allocation across 48 powered access ports, including eight ports supporting 60W PoE. The other powered ports support 30W PoE+. Individual port capability does not mean every port can deliver its maximum simultaneously; total connected-device demand must remain within the shared allocation.

Which uplink connections does SG350X-48MP-K9 have?

SG350X-48MP-K9 has four fixed 10G uplinks: two dedicated SFP+ connections and two 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo connections. Each combo connection permits either its copper interface or its optical interface to be active, not both simultaneously. The uplink arrangement therefore provides four logical connections rather than six independently usable links.

Can Cisco 350X switches form a hardware stack?

Yes, Cisco 350X hardware stacking supports four members managed as one system, including mixed SG350X, SG350XG and SX350X models. Interconnects use copper or fiber uplink interfaces with ring or chain topologies. Supported short-link cable options include SFP-H10GB-CU1M=, SFP-H10GB-CU3M= and SFP-H10GB-CU5M=, selected according to the required connection length.

What routing capabilities does Cisco 350X provide?

Cisco 350X provides static IPv4 and IPv6 routing rather than dynamic routing-protocol operation. The supported limits are 990 IPv4 static routes with 128 IP interfaces and 245 IPv6 static routes with 106 IPv6 interfaces. Routing interfaces can be associated with physical ports, link aggregation groups, VLANs or loopback interfaces.

What is the difference between SG350X-48MP-K9 and SG350X-48P-K9-NA?

SG350X-48MP-K9 provides a 740W PoE allocation, whereas SG350X-48P-K9-NA provides 382W. Both are discontinued 350X models, so this comparison concerns maintaining existing installations rather than selecting a current generation. The MP model suits a larger aggregate endpoint power requirement; the P model suits a smaller powered-device allocation.

What is the difference between SG350X-48MP-K9 and SG350X-24MP-K9-NA?

SG350X-48MP-K9 has 48 access ports, while SG350X-24MP-K9-NA has 24. Both are discontinued 350X models, making this a density comparison for existing installations rather than a current-generation recommendation. The larger model suits higher endpoint counts; the smaller model suits locations that need fewer wired access connections.

What is the difference between SG350X-48MP-K9 and C1300-48FP-4X?

SG350X-48MP-K9 includes two copper/SFP+ combo uplinks, whereas C1300-48FP-4X uses four 10G SFP+ uplinks. The older switch suits preserving existing copper-uplink connections. The Catalyst 1300 model is the current forward replacement for buyers moving to an optical-uplink configuration rather than purchasing another discontinued switch generation.
