UCSC-MLOM-C25Q-04 is the Cisco UCS VIC 1457 Virtual Interface Card, a 4-port 10/25G SFP28 mLOM network adapter for UCS C220 M5, UCS C240 M5 and UCS C240 SD M5 rack servers. It presents Ethernet and FCoE interfaces to the host, so one mLOM slot covers LAN and SAN traffic. As a Cisco UCS C220 M5 network adapter, the mLOM slot keeps rear PCIe riser slots available for storage, GPU or extra VIC cards. The same fit applies to C240 M5 and C240 SD M5 systems when the chassis inventory has the dedicated x16 mLOM position. UCSC-MLOM-C100-04 is the higher-speed mLOM sibling for these M5 hosts; it uses two 40/100G QSFP28 ports.

UCSC-MLOM-C25Q-04 fits UCS C220 M5, UCS C240 M5 and UCS C240 SD M5 rack servers in the mLOM slot. It does not fit C-Series M6 mLOM servers; C220 M6, C240 M6, C225 M6 and C245 M6 take UCSC-M-V25-04.

UCSC-MLOM-C25Q-04 uses the dedicated mLOM slot with an x16 electrical connection in C220 M5 and C240 M5 systems. The host can also carry PCIe VICs in riser slots, but the mLOM card occupies the motherboard networking position rather than riser 1 or 2.
UCSC-MLOM-C25Q-04 needs UCS Manager 4.0(1a) with VIC firmware 5.0(1c) for managed mode, or standalone 4.0(1a) with VIC firmware 5.0(1c) for Cisco IMC mode. UCS Manager 4.0(4e) with VIC firmware 5.0(3d) is the recommended managed release.

Cisco stopped selling UCSC-MLOM-C25Q-04 on 30 October 2023. Cisco has not announced a last date of support for UCSC-MLOM-C25Q-04. The M5 rack-server hosts that carry this mLOM card have a last date of support of 31 October 2028.
