C9300-48UN-M delivers multigigabit connectivity across 48 copper access ports, supporting speeds through 5G and UPOE for powered endpoints. The managed access switch uses a modular uplink architecture rather than built-in fiber uplinks, so the selected network module determines the upstream connections. A full-width 1U chassis places the Cisco Catalyst 9300-M in equipment racks for enterprise campus and branch access. Meraki software makes centralized cloud management part of this configuration rather than a separately assumed hardware capability. C9300-48P-M provides 30W PoE+ for lower-draw endpoints instead of the UPOE capability of this model. The copper interfaces accommodate wireless access points and other Ethernet devices, while the removable uplink arrangement allows the upstream connection type to be specified independently of the access-port configuration.

640 Gbps switching capacity defines the switching fabric throughput, while 476.19 Mpps forwarding performance describes packet processing rather than interface speed. 645W of PoE power is shared across connected devices with the default PWR-C1-1100WAC-P, requiring endpoint allocations to remain within the available supply configuration. Static routing supports routed connections, and DHCP server and relay functions support address assignment. C9300-48UN-M combines 8 GB of DRAM with 16 GB of flash for software operation and local storage. Its UADP 2.0 forwarding ASIC forms part of the Catalyst 9000 hardware architecture. A 32000-entry MAC table provides address-learning capacity for attached networks. Meraki dashboard management supports port provisioning, monitoring, remote cable testing and packet captures through a centralized browser interface. Configuration templates can standardize settings before hardware arrives at a site. Three FAN-T2= fan modules provide active cooling; this is not a fanless chassis. Individual endpoints cannot receive 90W UPOE+ power from this model.
Specify C9300-48UN-M in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, with quantities and the required order configuration on the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, including power-on and POST, rated-speed links, clean boot and PoE output under load on every powered port; firmware is verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM Systems provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units, up to 1 year on certified refurbished units and 30-day returns on either condition, with terms applying; Cisco's separate Enhanced Limited Lifetime warranty retains original-owner and end-of-life limits. Enterprise and volume orders can use PO acceptance, Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement.
| Key Specs | Key Spec Values |
|---|---|
Operating System | Meraki OS |
Port Configuration | 48 x 5G UPOE / modular uplinks |
PoE Budget | 645W / 1745W with two PWR-C1-1100WAC-P supplies |
Stacking | StackWise-480 / eight members |
Cooling | 3 FAN-T2= fan modules |
When an access stack needs additional multigigabit capacity, compare packet demand against the 833.33 Mpps forwarding rate with stacking rather than treating the additional member as an independent switch. Confirm the existing stack's software mode and inventory its connections before adding the hardware and connection parts to the PO.
For branch installations that can be energized in cold wiring rooms, the minimum ambient temperature for a cold start is 0°C. Lower permitted running temperatures do not remove that startup condition. Confirm room temperature at energization and include commissioning conditions in the deployment checklist before submitting the PO.
When spare inventory must cover geographically separated sites, ORM Systems supports stock and RMA handling across the UK, EU, US and MEA. Standardize spare hardware on C9300-48UN-M rather than treating a different software suffix as interchangeable. Specify the delivery region, spare quantity and advance-replacement arrangements on the PO.
90W power for individual endpoints
C9300-48UN-M supports 60W UPOE rather than 90W UPOE+. C9300X-48HX-M provides 90W UPOE+ capability and also changes the access interfaces to 48 multigigabit ports supporting 10G.
10G on every copper downlink
C9300-48UN-M limits each copper access interface to 5G. C9300-24UX-M supports 10G multigigabit access, but reduces access-port density from 48 ports to 24 ports.

C9300-48UN-M identifies a Catalyst 9300 configuration with 48 copper access ports, 5G multigigabit connectivity, UPOE and Meraki software. C9300 names the hardware family, 48 gives the port count, UN identifies the 5G UPOE configuration, and M selects Meraki Enterprise or Advanced software ordering rather than a Network Essentials or Network Advantage suffix.
C9300-48UN-M is managed through the browser-based Meraki dashboard for configuration and monitoring. Dashboard tools provide port provisioning, network visibility, remote cable testing and packet captures. The Meraki software configuration should not be ordered on the assumption that locally managed Network Essentials or Network Advantage operation is included with this suffix.
C9300-48UN-M provides a shared 645W PoE budget with the default PWR-C1-1100WAC-P and supports 60W UPOE on individual ports. Two PWR-C1-1100WAC-P supplies increase the available budget to 1745W. Neither configuration provides the 2880W required for all 48 ports to deliver 60W simultaneously, so endpoint demand must be allocated.
C9300-48UN-M accepts C9300-NM-4G for four 1G connections, C9300-NM-8X for eight 10G connections, C9300-NM-2Y for two 25G connections, or C9300-NM-2Q for two 40G connections. The chassis does not include an uplink module. Specify the module and compatible optics separately rather than assuming fixed fiber uplinks are installed.
Catalyst 9300-M supports eight members using StackWise-480, with 480 Gbps stacking bandwidth. Stack members require matching license levels. STACK-T1-50CM, STACK-T1-1M and STACK-T1-3M provide the available connection lengths, so the purchase order should identify the cables needed for the physical arrangement rather than only listing additional switch chassis.
C9300-48UN-M supports Meraki Enterprise or Advanced term licensing and MS300 Large Essentials or Advantage subscriptions, each starting at one year. One-year Meraki options are LIC-C9300-48E-1Y and LIC-C9300-48A-1Y; subscription options are LIC-MS-300-L-E and LIC-MS-300-L-A. A license is required separately, including for an ORM refurbished order; no perpetual network tier is included.
C9300-48UN-M includes one PWR-C1-1100WAC-P, while a second internal power supply is optional rather than standard. Adding another PWR-C1-1100WAC-P changes the available endpoint-power budget and supply configuration. Specify the additional supply and the appropriate regional power connection when the purchase requires two populated power-supply bays instead of the base configuration.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 9300-M. C9300-48UN-M remains an orderable Meraki software configuration rather than a model with a published hardware retirement milestone. Hardware lifecycle status is separate from software-release retirement, so an end-of-life announcement for a particular software release does not itself discontinue this switch.
ORM Systems offers C9300-48UN-M new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate Enhanced Limited Lifetime hardware warranty covers the original owner, with warranty support limited to five years after a discontinuance announcement.
C9300-48UN-M supports 60W UPOE per port, whereas C9300-48P-M supports 30W PoE+ per port. Those figures describe individual-port capability rather than permission to power every port at maximum simultaneously. C9300-48UN-M suits endpoints requiring the higher power class; C9300-48P-M suits powered devices whose requirements remain within the PoE+ class.
C9300-48UN-M selects Meraki software without an included perpetual network tier, whereas C9300-48UN-A includes Network Advantage. The hardware configurations retain 48-port 5G UPOE access and modular uplinks. C9300-48UN-M suits Meraki-managed purchases; C9300-48UN-A suits Network Advantage requirements with the associated Cisco Catalyst or Cisco DNA subscription selection at purchase.
C9300-48UN-M supplies 48 multigigabit copper access ports, whereas C9300-24UX-M supplies 24 multigigabit copper access ports. Both use UPOE, modular uplinks and Meraki software ordering. C9300-48UN-M suits purchases requiring higher connection density in one chassis; C9300-24UX-M suits installations whose access-port requirement fits within a 24-port hardware configuration.
