C9300-48S-1E is a federal one-year offer for a Layer 3 fiber access switch with 48 fixed 1G SFP ports and Network Essentials. The Cisco Catalyst 9300 chassis occupies one rack unit and provides data connectivity without PoE output. An empty modular uplink bay accepts C9300-NM-4G, C9300-NM-8X, C9300-NM-2Y, C9300-NM-2Q, or C9300-NM-4M, keeping uplink hardware a separate order choice. C9300-48P-E supplies copper PoE+ access instead, changing both the endpoint connection and power delivery. Within the Catalyst 9000 family, this optical configuration serves campus access links rather than endpoints requiring native RJ-45 access connections. Select the uplink card to match the distribution connection without changing the fixed access interfaces.
C9300-48S-1E price for new stock is $45,719.03. C9300-48S-1E refurb price is $19,213.95. C9300-48S-1E is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

256 Gbps switching capacity supports standalone switching, while 190.47 Mpps forwarding rate describes handling of 64-byte IPv4 packets. OSPF supports up to 1000 routes under Network Essentials, alongside Static routing, RIPv1, RIPv2, RIPng, EIGRP Stub, PBR, VRRP, and PIM Stub multicast. BGP, full EIGRP, and IS-IS require Network Advantage. The 32000-route IPv4 hardware total includes direct and indirect entries; it is separate from the Essentials OSPF allowance. C9300-48S-1E carries 8 GB of DRAM and 16 GB of flash for its Cisco IOS XE operating environment. Its UADP 2.0 ASIC handles forwarding, while MACsec-128 and IP SLA Responder belong to the base feature set. Three FAN-T2 fans provide active cooling, so the chassis is not fanless. Power consumption reaches 161W with C9300-NM-4M at 115V AC under full traffic; power provisioning must account for the selected configuration rather than treating PSU output capacity as device consumption.
C9300-48S-1E is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed port links, clean boot, and optics bay recognition, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify the condition and required accessories on the PO before ordering this switch. ORM Systems warranties provide up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, and RMA with advance replacement support enterprise and volume procurement across UK, EU, US, and MEA stock and RMA regions.

When several fiber handoffs converge on one access switch, traffic bursts can matter separately from link speed. The standard Gigabit configuration uses a 16 MB packet buffer, rather than the larger buffers available on higher-scale configurations. Capture the expected burst profile and oversubscription requirements before specifying the order.
A lab or staging purchase used to validate configurations before production needs a plan for trial entitlements. Base and add-on licenses offer a 90-day evaluation, and an expired evaluation cannot be reactivated by reloading. Identify the permanent entitlement and the Smart Account owner before issuing the PO.
For a US spare-stock purchase, the AC lead must match the equipment's destination rather than simply its hardware identity. CAB-TA-NA= is the North American AC power cord for this series. Put the regional cord selection and the receiving site's power connection requirements on the PO.
PoE-powered copper access endpoints
C9300-48S-1E has no PoE output and uses SFP access ports. C9300-48P-E provides 48 copper PoE+ ports when powered endpoints are the requirement.
BGP routing without license upgrades
Network Essentials does not enable BGP. C9300-48S-A supplies Network Advantage for advanced routing while retaining the same 48-port 1G SFP access configuration.
10G fiber access connections
The fixed SFP access ports stop at 1G; faster modules affect uplinks only. Catalyst 9300X fiber models offer 12 or 24 ports at 25G/10G/1G instead.

C9300-48S-1E identifies a Catalyst 9300 switch, with 48 denoting the access-port count, S denoting fiber SFP access, and 1E denoting the federal one-year Network Essentials offer. The 1 belongs to the offer term, not an uplink speed code; the fixed access ports operate at 1G.
C9300-48S-1E is managed through the Cisco IOS XE CLI over console, SSH, or Telnet, the embedded Web UI, and Cisco Catalyst Center. Meraki dashboard management requires migration to Meraki mode and the corresponding license. Choose the management mode and account ownership before ordering; the federal hardware offer does not itself select cloud management.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 9300. That hardware status is separate from the retirement of individual Cisco IOS XE releases or optional software offers. Select the required software entitlement and operating release independently when preparing a purchase order.
ORM Systems offers C9300-48S-1E new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate Enhanced Limited Lifetime warranty covers the original customer and is limited to five years after a discontinuance announcement; eligibility is separate from ORM's coverage.
C9300-48S-1E is the federal one-year Network Essentials offer. Standard choices are Cisco DNA Essentials or Advantage and Cisco Catalyst Essentials or Advantage, each starting at three years. Cisco Networking Subscription offers Cisco Switching Essentials or Advantage with a 36-month minimum; Meraki Enterprise or Advanced starts at one year after mode migration. Network Essentials remains perpetual.
C9300-48S-1E supports C9300-NM-4G for four 1G ports, C9300-NM-8X for eight 10G/1G ports, C9300-NM-2Y for two 25G/10G/1G ports, C9300-NM-2Q for two 40G ports, or C9300-NM-4M for four Multigigabit ports. No uplink card is installed by default; specify the required card and matching optics on the PO.
StackWise-480 connects eight Catalyst 9300 members at 480 Gbps, with matching network-license levels. C9300-48S-1E uses STACK-T1-50CM, STACK-T1-1M, or STACK-T1-3M rather than an external stack-adapter kit. Catalyst 9300L, Catalyst 3850, Catalyst 3650, and the separate higher-scale Catalyst 9300 models cannot join the same stack.
Yes, C9300-48S-1E supports Layer 3 routing with Network Essentials, including OSPF limited to 1000 routes, RIPv1, RIPv2, RIPng, Static routing, EIGRP Stub, PBR, VRRP, and PIM Stub multicast. The 32000-route IPv4 hardware total is a different limit. BGP, full EIGRP, IS-IS, and advanced segmentation require Network Advantage.
C9300-48S-1E ships with one PWR-C1-715WAC-P power supply and supports a second internal power supply for optional redundancy. The second bay is not populated in the default configuration. Specify the second PWR-C1-715WAC-P and the appropriate regional AC cords if dual-supply operation is part of the purchase requirement.
Catalyst 9300 fiber models use a full-width 1U rack-mount chassis rather than a desktop enclosure. C9300-48S-1E measures 43 mm high by 444 mm wide, with a 449 mm chassis depth and a 7.86 kg weight with the default power supply. Allow additional rear clearance for power connections.
C9300-48P-E provides 48 copper PoE+ access ports, while C9300-48S-1E provides 48 non-PoE 1G SFP access ports. That changes both the endpoint connection and power delivery, not just a software setting. The fiber model suits optical handoffs; the PoE+ model suits copper endpoints that need switch-supplied power.
Network Advantage on C9300-48S-A adds BGP, full EIGRP, IS-IS, and network segmentation that C9300-48S-1E's Network Essentials does not enable. Both use the same fiber hardware architecture. Choose the federal Essentials offer for its licensed baseline; choose C9300-48S-A when advanced network features must be included at purchase.
C9300-24S-E has 24 fixed 1G SFP access ports, compared with 48 on C9300-48S-1E. Both retain a modular uplink architecture and Network Essentials. Specify the 48-port model when the required fiber terminations exceed the smaller chassis's density; use C9300-24S-E when 24 access connections cover the requirement.
C9300-48S-1E reaches 161W with C9300-NM-4M at 115V AC under full traffic, not 715W of device consumption. The PWR-C1-715WAC-P rating describes PSU output capacity. Consumption changes with the installed uplink card and operating conditions, so size the order's power provisions around the selected configuration.
C9300-48S-1E retains its perpetual Network Essentials capabilities when a Cisco DNA subscription expires, after the add-on is deactivated and the switch reloaded. Renew the subscription only to retain its subscription features. A Smart Account is required when purchasing Cisco licensing, so identify the account owner on the PO.
