C9300X-24Y-E provides 24 SFP28 fiber downlinks supporting 25G, 10G, or 1G connectivity in a managed Layer 3 access switch with Network Essentials. The non-PoE configuration connects fiber-based network segments rather than supplying endpoint power, while its full-width 1U chassis fits a standard equipment rack. Cisco Catalyst 9300X combines these fixed downlinks with a modular uplink architecture, allowing the uplink configuration to be selected independently of the access-port configuration. The base configuration leaves that uplink bay empty rather than including an installed network module. Within the Catalyst 9000 family, this model serves enterprise campus access where fiber connections and routed access are required together. C9300X-24Y-A retains the same fiber-port configuration but includes Network Advantage for buyers requiring advanced routing features.
C9300X-24Y-E price for new stock is $11,295.90, a 63.4% saving from the Cisco list price of $30,823.00. C9300X-24Y-E refurb price is $10,232.25. C9300X-24Y-E is in stock and available for free next-day delivery. (terms applied)

2000 Gbps switching capacity provides the standalone bandwidth ceiling for traffic planning, while 1488 Mpps forwarding rate supplies the corresponding packet-processing figure. OSPF supports up to 1000 routes under the included license, alongside Static, RIP, EIGRP Stub, PBR, VRRP, and PIM Stub; BGP and full EIGRP require Network Advantage. C9300X-24Y-E carries 16 GB of DRAM and 16 GB of flash for its operating software and stored images. A 32 MB packet buffer accommodates queued traffic, and the 32000-entry MAC table provides the hardware address scale for switched connections. The IPv4 hardware total is 39000 routes, comprising 24000 direct and 15000 indirect entries; that total does not remove the included license's OSPF limit. Local administration uses the embedded web UI or CLI, including SSH and console access. Cisco Catalyst Center and the Meraki dashboard provide additional management paths subject to the selected software entitlements and management mode.
ORM Systems supplies C9300X-24Y-E new sealed or certified refurbished. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, every port linking at rated speed, optics recognition, PSU status, and FAN-T2= fan status, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM warranties cover new units for up to three years extended and refurbished units for up to one year; every condition has 30-day returns, terms apply, while Cisco's separate Enhanced Limited Lifetime warranty covers the original customer. Specify condition and complete the purchase order; PO acceptance, government Net-30, RMA with advance replacement, and UK, EU, US, and MEA stock/RMA terms support enterprise and volume orders.

C9300X-24Y-E operates at the high-speed fiber access layer where 24 fixed SFP28 ports terminate 25G, 10G, or 1G optical links from downstream devices or local aggregation points. Engineers select the C9300X network module that matches upstream capacity, then stage VLANs, routed interfaces, and monitoring through IOS XE. Network Essentials aligns the switch with base Catalyst routed access and Cisco subscription planning. StackWise-1T groups compatible Catalyst 9300X members under one management plane as the access block expands. The deployment consolidates high-speed fiber links into a managed Catalyst stack.
C9300X-24Y-E sits between high-speed fiber access areas and the distribution layer when a site needs SFP28 density with modular uplink selection. The 24 SFP28 ports handle 25G, 10G, or 1G optical circuits, while the chosen uplink module defines the upstream handoff, including 25G, 40G, or 100G options. Network teams validate optics, VLAN trunks, routing adjacencies, and StackWise membership before production use. The topology gains a clear optical handoff point with predictable port roles and Catalyst operational controls for daily operations.
C9300X-24Y-E supports stacked fiber aggregation where multiple Catalyst 9300X members operate with StackWise-1T and the same license level. Engineers combine SFP28 access links across stack members, reserve modular uplinks for distribution or core connections, and apply shared management through the stack control plane. The non-PoE fiber design keeps endpoint power planning separate from switching capacity and optic selection. Certified refurbished units receive SFP28, uplink-module, fan, power, and boot validation before dispatch. The result is a scalable fiber aggregation block for enterprise refresh cycles.
An estate containing discontinued WS-C3850-24XS-S or WS-C3850-32XS-S hardware has a migration target in the C9300X-24Y hardware base. Those older models reached end of sale on April 30, 2022, with support ending April 30, 2027. Before the PO, check required routing features and existing fiber connections against the selected license and optics.
An existing modular-uplink Catalyst 9300 stack can accept a Catalyst 9300X member at 480 Gbps stacking bandwidth when license levels match. Higher-scale Catalyst 9300 models cannot join that mixed stack, and Catalyst 9300L members are excluded. Before ordering an extension, confirm every member's hardware family, license level, and cable arrangement.
A rollout involving equipment stored or installed below freezing needs a separate cold-start check before energizing the switch. The minimum ambient temperature for cold start is 0°C, even though normal operation can extend below that temperature. Specify the staging conditions and verify the room temperature before scheduling power-on and commissioning.
PoE-powered copper endpoints
C9300X-24Y-E has fiber downlinks without PoE. C9300X-24HX-E provides 24 Multigigabit copper ports with UPOE+, but changes the downlink medium and maximum native speed to 10G.
BGP or full OSPF routing
C9300X-24Y-E excludes BGP and limits OSPF to 1000 routes under Network Essentials. C9300X-24Y-A supplies Network Advantage for advanced routing on the same fiber hardware.
Expansion of a Catalyst 9300L stack
C9300X-24Y-E cannot join a Catalyst 9300L stack because fixed-uplink and modular-uplink models use separate stacking groups. Deploy the fiber switch outside that existing stack.

C9300X-24Y-E identifies a Catalyst 9300X switch with 24 fiber ports and Network Essentials. C9300X identifies the hardware family, 24 gives the downlink count, Y identifies the 25G/10G/1G SFP28 configuration, and E identifies Network Essentials. The configuration uses modular uplinks without a separate uplink-speed segment in the part number.
C9300X-24Y-E supports an embedded web UI and CLI administration through local console or SSH, plus Cisco Catalyst Center and Meraki dashboard management paths. Dashboard options include cloud-managed configuration or device-managed configuration with a Cloud CLI terminal. Centralized management requires compatible software entitlements and the appropriate management mode; the web UI is included.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 9300X. C9300X-24Y-E remains a current ordering option rather than hardware with a scheduled retirement milestone. Cisco IOS XE release retirement dates apply to software releases and do not establish an end-of-sale date or last date of support for this switch hardware.
ORM Systems supplies C9300X-24Y-E new sealed with up to three-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to one-year warranty; both have 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco's separate Enhanced Limited Lifetime warranty covers the original customer and limits warranty support to five years after a discontinuance announcement.
C9300X-24Y-E includes perpetual Network Essentials and requires subscription selection for new purchases. Cisco DNA Essentials/Advantage and Cisco Catalyst Essentials/Advantage start at three years. Cisco Networking Subscription offers Cisco Switching Essentials/Advantage with a 36-month minimum. Meraki Enterprise/Advanced migration licenses start at one year. Match subscription tiers to network entitlements and assign the required Smart Account.
The C9300X-24Y hardware base replaces C1-WSC3850-24XS-S, C3850-24XS-E++, C3850-32XS-E++, C3850-32XS-S++, WS-C3850-24XS-E, WS-C3850-24XS-S, WS-C3850-32XS-E, and WS-C3850-32XS-S. Those predecessors reached end of sale on April 30, 2022, and support ends April 30, 2027. C9300X-24Y-E selects Network Essentials, so migration must also account for any advanced routing features required by the existing configuration.
C9300X-24Y-E accepts C9300X-NM-8Y for eight 25G/10G/1G ports, C9300X-NM-2C for two 100G/40G ports, C9300X-NM-4C for four 100G/40G ports, or C9300X-NM-8M for eight 10G/1G Multigigabit ports. The base configuration includes no uplink module. Specify the required module and compatible transceivers separately so the purchase order defines the complete uplink configuration.
C9300X-24Y-E supports StackWise-1T stacks of eight members with matching license levels. Select STACK-T1-50CM, STACK-T1-1M, or STACK-T1-3M data-stack cables for the required spacing. Mixed Catalyst 9300X and Catalyst 9300 stacks operate at 480 Gbps; Catalyst 9300L and higher-scale Catalyst 9300 models cannot join that mixed stack.
C9300X-24Y-E performs Layer 3 routing with Static, RIP, EIGRP Stub, and OSPF limited to 1000 routes under Network Essentials. PBR, VRRP, and PIM Stub are also included. The hardware supports 39000 total IPv4 entries, comprising 24000 direct and 15000 indirect routes, but that hardware total does not expand the OSPF entitlement.
C9300X-24Y-E ships with one PWR-C1-715WAC-P power supply, while a second PWR-C1-715WAC-P is optional. The included PWR-C1-715WAC-P accepts 100-240V AC. Buyers requiring internal power redundancy must add the second PWR-C1-715WAC-P rather than assuming that both internal power bays are populated in the base configuration.
The Catalyst 9300X 24-port fiber switch provides 2000 Gbps standalone switching capacity and 1488 Mpps forwarding performance. Its switching capacity with stacking is 3000 Gbps, and the 24-port fiber configuration carries a 32 MB packet buffer. These are separate bandwidth, packet-processing, and buffering measures rather than interchangeable throughput figures.
C9300X-24Y-E provides non-PoE SFP28 fiber downlinks, whereas C9300X-24HX-E provides 24 Multigigabit copper downlinks with UPOE+. The powered model supports 90W per port within a shared 735W default budget. The fiber model suits optical connections; the copper model suits powered endpoints after their combined demand is checked against the available budget.
C9300X-24Y-E includes Network Essentials, while C9300X-24Y-A includes Network Advantage on the same 24-port SFP28 hardware. Network Advantage adds BGP, full EIGRP, IS-IS, and full OSPF capabilities. Choose the Essentials variant for its included routed-access feature set; specify the Advantage variant when the routing design requires those additional protocols or capabilities.
C9300X-24Y-E provides 24 SFP28 downlinks, while C9300X-12Y-E provides 12 SFP28 downlinks with the same 25G/10G/1G speed options and Network Essentials tier. The 24-port model suits orders requiring more fiber connections in one switch. The 12-port model suits a smaller connection count without changing the downlink speed class.
C9300X-24Y-E consumes 221.2W in the full-traffic test at 115V AC without an uplink module, versus 142W with no links in that configuration. Installing C9300X-NM-4C raises the tested full-traffic figure to 275W. Size electrical capacity against the selected configuration rather than treating the PWR-C1-715WAC-P output rating as switch consumption.
