IE-9320-24P4S-E combines fanless cooling with managed Layer 3 industrial switching, providing 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ downlinks and four fixed 1G SFP uplinks. Network Essentials supplies the base software tier in a 1U rack-mount chassis. The Cisco Catalyst IE9300 Rugged Series serves hardened networks in manufacturing, energy, transportation, and other industrial environments, connecting automation equipment alongside powered cameras and wireless access points. Fixed uplinks make the connection architecture a hardware purchasing decision rather than a network-module selection. The closely related IE-9320-24P4X-E changes the uplinks to 10G SFP+. This Gigabit PoE+ industrial switch therefore fits purchase requirements centered on copper endpoint connectivity and Gigabit fiber aggregation, without requiring the higher-speed uplink variant.
IE-9320-24P4S-E price for new stock is $7,216.65. IE-9320-24P4S-E refurb price is $14,863.50. IE-9320-24P4S-E is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

56 Gbps switching capacity supports full-duplex traffic across the built-in interfaces, while 41.66 Mpps forwarding performance is measured with 64-byte packets. 480W shared PoE capacity requires two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 supplies and IOS XE 17.18.1 or later; a single PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 provides 320W. Individual powered ports support 30W, subject to the available shared allocation. OSPF supports up to 1000 routes under Network Essentials, alongside static routing, OSPFv3, RIP, and PBR. IE-9320-24P4S-E carries 4 GB of DRAM and 8 GB of onboard flash, with approximately 2.5 GB of flash accessible to the user. The 24000-entry MAC scale requires IOS XE 17.17.1 or later. PRP and HSR are not supported on this model. Electrical sizing must distinguish the indicative 37W system consumption from the additional power delivered to endpoints; that figure is not a maximum input draw including PoE loads.
ORM Systems offers IE-9320-24P4S-E new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed port links, optics recognition, and PoE output under load on every powered port, with firmware verified and configurations wiped to factory default. Specify this switch's condition, accessory PIDs, and license requirements on the purchase order. New units carry up to 3-year extended ORM warranty coverage, certified refurbished units carry up to 1 year, and every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. For enterprise and volume orders, PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, regional stock and RMA across the UK, EU, US, and MEA, and RMA with advance replacement are available.

Replaces | IE-5000-16S12P / IE-5000-16S12P= July 26, 2024; IE-4010-4S24P July 31, 2026 |
An industrial refresh replacing discontinued IE-4010-4S24P equipment can use this model as a migration option; the older model ended sale July 31, 2026. Migration from discontinued IE-5000-16S12P or IE-5000-16S12P= changes the copper and fiber interface mix, so verify existing endpoint media before specifying the replacement.
An unattended cabinet requiring local environmental or tamper monitoring can connect four dry-contact alarm inputs and one relay output. Alarm responses can include logging, an SNMP trap, or an external alarm device. Specify the sensor contacts, notification destination, and relay integration before releasing the purchase order.
A staging bench preparing replacement equipment can use removable storage for configuration and recovery workflows. The optional SD-IE-16GB= provides 16 GB of SD storage and is not included by default. Where the Swap Drive workflow forms part of the recovery procedure, include SD-IE-16GB= in the order.
10G fiber uplinks to aggregation
The four fixed SFP uplinks operate at 1G. IE-9320-24P4X-E provides four 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks while retaining 24 Gigabit PoE+ copper downlinks.
Endpoint power above 30W per port
Each powered downlink is limited to 30W. IE-9320-16P8U4X-E adds eight 2.5G 4PPoE ports supporting 90W per port, alongside 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports.
BGP or VRF-lite routing
Network Essentials does not include BGP or VRF-lite. IE-9320-24P4S-A supplies Network Advantage on the same port configuration for these advanced routing requirements.

IE-9320-24P4S-E identifies a stackable Catalyst IE9300 industrial switch: IE-9320 identifies the model, 24P denotes 24 Gigabit PoE+ downlinks, 4S denotes four Gigabit SFP uplinks, and -E identifies Network Essentials. The uplinks are fixed interfaces rather than ports added by a removable network module.
IE-9320-24P4S-E supports WebUI, CLI through SSH or Telnet, local RJ-45 RS-232 or Micro-USB console access, SNMP, NETCONF, RESTCONF, and Catalyst Center. Local and remote configuration paths support different operational workflows, while Catalyst Center management uses optional subscription licensing rather than replacing the perpetual network license.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst IE9300 Rugged. IE-9320-24P4S-E has no announced hardware retirement milestone. Individual IOS XE releases have separate software lifecycle dates, so maintenance planning should distinguish the switch hardware from the particular software release installed on the device.
New sealed and certified refurbished IE-9320-24P4S-E are offered by ORM Systems. Cisco's platform warranty is five-year limited hardware coverage; ORM's separate warranty is up to 3-year extended for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units. Every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply.
IE-9320-24P4S-E includes perpetual Network Essentials; Network Advantage is the higher perpetual tier. Optional Catalyst Center DNA Essentials and Catalyst Center DNA Advantage subscriptions have three-, five-, or seven-year terms, with DNA Advantage requiring Network Advantage. An ORM order introduces no mandatory Catalyst Center subscription, and the perpetual base license does not expire.
IE-9320-24P4S-E is a replacement option for IE-4010-4S24P, IE-5000-16S12P, and IE-5000-16S12P=. IE-4010-4S24P ended sale July 31, 2026; both older IE-5000 part numbers ended sale July 26, 2024. These predecessors are discontinued, and migration from the mixed-interface IE-5000 models requires checking the existing copper and fiber connections.
IE-9320-24P4S-E provides a shared 480W PoE budget with two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 supplies on IOS XE 17.18.1 or later. One PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 provides 320W. Each powered downlink supports 30W, but the shared allocation prevents all ports drawing that maximum simultaneously; earlier software limits the system budget to 385W.
IE-9320-24P4S-E supports a four-member StackWise stack through its dedicated stacking connectors. CAB-STK-0.5M= provides a 0.5 m stack cable, while CAB-STK-1M= provides a 1 m stack cable. Specify cable lengths for the physical layout; the dedicated stacking connections leave the Ethernet uplinks available for network traffic.
IE-9320-24P4S-E supports static routing, OSPF with up to 1000 routes, OSPFv3, RIP, and PBR under Network Essentials. This makes the supplied configuration Layer 3 capable. BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, and VRF-lite belong to Network Advantage rather than the included software tier, so advanced routing requires the higher license.
IE-9320-24P4S-E accepts industrial Gigabit SFP options including GLC-SX-MM-RGD= for multimode fiber and GLC-LX-SM-RGD= for single-mode links. Select the transceiver for the installed fiber and required distance. Using nonindustrial transceivers requires operating-temperature derating, so optic temperature ratings must match the cabinet environment rather than just the link speed.
IE-9320-24P4S-E provides 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports rated at 30W each, while IE-9320-16P8U4X-E provides 16 Gigabit PoE+ ports and eight 2.5G 4PPoE ports rated at 90W each. The former serves PoE+ endpoint requirements; the latter accommodates higher-draw devices on its eight designated ports, subject to the shared power budget.
IE-9320-24P4S-E includes Network Essentials, while IE-9320-24P4S-A includes Network Advantage on the same port configuration. Network Advantage adds capabilities including BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS, and VRF-lite. Select the -E model for the Essentials feature set or the -A model when those additional routing and virtualization features are required.
IE-9320-24P4S-E has four fixed 1G SFP uplinks, while IE-9320-24P4X-E has four fixed 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks. Both provide 24 Gigabit PoE+ downlinks with Network Essentials. The first model suits Gigabit aggregation connections; the second suits purchase requirements calling for 10G connectivity to the upstream network.
IE-9320-24P4S-E supports PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H, PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H, PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250, and PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400. One supply powers the system, and a second is optional for redundancy or additional PoE capacity. PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 cannot share load with PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H, PWR-RGD-LOW-DC-H, or PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250, so the supply selection must match both the source voltage and the intended power arrangement.
Yes, IE-9320-24P4S-E supports operation from -40°C to 60°C in a sealed cabinet. Its operating range extends to 70°C in a vented cabinet or 75°C in a blower-equipped cabinet, while safety approval remains limited to 60°C. The chassis is fanless, and transceiver selection can require further temperature derating.
