IE-9320-24P4X-E is a fanless Layer 3 industrial switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ access ports and four fixed 10G SFP+ uplinks. The 1U rack-mount chassis brings the Catalyst IE9300 Rugged series into manufacturing, transportation, and utility networks requiring powered copper connections alongside fiber aggregation. Network Essentials supplies the included network feature set. Cameras, wireless access points, and Ethernet-enabled automation equipment are supported endpoint types. The IE-9320-24T4X-E sibling uses non-PoE copper access ports. Four dry-contact alarm inputs and one relay output connect cabinet monitoring to the network equipment, allowing external conditions such as tampering or over-temperature events to participate in operational alarm handling.
IE-9320-24P4X-E price is $9,736.65, a 44.7% saving from the Cisco list price of $17,606.00. IE-9320-24P4X-E is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

128 Gbps switching capacity provides full-duplex capacity across the interfaces, while 95.23 Mpps forwarding applies to 64-byte packets. 720W of shared PoE budget is available with two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 supplies; one PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 provides 320W, making the installed power configuration part of endpoint sizing. OSPF supports up to 1000 routes, alongside Static routing, RIP, OSPFv3, and PBR; BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS require a network-license upgrade. IE-9320-24P4X-E carries 4 GB of DRAM and 8 GB of onboard flash for software operation and local storage. Cisco IOS XE provides WebUI and CLI administration, with SNMP, NETCONF, and RESTCONF integration for IE9300 management workflows. Cisco StackWise supports four members. The 39W indicative system-consumption figure is separate from delivered endpoint power, and optics, supply efficiency, and supply count affect electrical sizing. Operating limits also depend on cabinet ventilation rather than ambient room temperature alone.
New sealed and certified refurbished IE-9320-24P4X-E units carry ORM coverage of up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units or up to 1 year for refurbished units, plus 30-day returns on every condition; terms apply. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, including PoE output under load on every powered port, with firmware verified and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify condition and required accessories on the PO, distinguishing ORM coverage from Cisco's separate five-year limited hardware warranty. ORM accepts POs for enterprise and volume orders, offers Net-30 for government, and provides RMA with advance replacement across the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When replacing a discontinued IE-5000-12S12P-10G or IE-5000-12S12P10G=, existing fiber-connected endpoints need a separate migration check. Those predecessors combine copper and fiber downlinks, while the replacement changes the connection mix. Audit every retained endpoint and specify its connection method before issuing the PO.
When adding powered endpoints to an existing installation, supply compatibility can determine which parts belong on the order. PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 cannot share load with PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 or PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H. Inventory installed supply PIDs and specify a compatible power configuration before committing to the endpoint list.
When consolidating equipment into a crowded industrial rack, mounting switches with no center gap introduces a 5°C temperature derating for this model. The top-unit derating applies across the stack. Review the enclosure temperature and reserve the required separation before fixing rack positions and quantities on the PO.
Multigigabit or higher-power copper endpoints
IE-9320-24P4X-E limits copper access links to Gigabit Ethernet and PoE+. IE-9320-16P8U4X-E provides eight 2.5G 4PPoE ports for endpoints requiring higher speed or power.
BGP, EIGRP, or IS-IS routing
IE-9320-24P4X-E includes Network Essentials, which excludes BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS. IE-9320-24P4X-A includes Network Advantage for those routing requirements without changing the physical port configuration.
PRP or HSR network redundancy
IE-9320-24P4X-E does not support PRP or HSR. IE-9320-22S2C4X-E supports both but substitutes fiber and dual-media downlinks for the copper PoE+ access configuration.

IE-9320-24P4X-E identifies a stackable Catalyst IE9300 industrial switch: IE-9320 identifies the model family, 24 is the access-port count, P identifies Gigabit PoE+ downlinks, 4X identifies four 10G SFP+ uplinks, and E identifies Network Essentials. These segments distinguish the powered copper configuration and its included network license.
Catalyst IE9300 Rugged switches support WebUI, CLI through SSH or Telnet, local RJ-45 or Micro-USB consoles, and Cisco Catalyst Center management. SNMP, NETCONF, and RESTCONF support integrations. Cisco Device Manager and Cisco Network Assistant provide additional configuration paths, while Express Setup and Plug and Play support commissioning.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst IE9300 Rugged. Retirement milestones for particular Cisco IOS XE releases or removable-storage accessories are separate from hardware retirement. A deployment plan should therefore distinguish the switch hardware from the software release selected for installation.
ORM Systems offers IE-9320-24P4X-E new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units and up to 1 year for refurbished units. Cisco's separate warranty is five-year limited hardware coverage. Every condition includes 30-day returns; terms apply. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested.
No, IE-9320-24P4X-E includes perpetual Network Essentials without a mandatory subscription. Optional Cisco Catalyst Center DNA Essentials and DNA Advantage subscriptions have three-, five-, or seven-year terms. DNA Advantage requires Network Advantage, available through IE9300-NW-A=. An ORM hardware order does not introduce a mandatory management-subscription requirement.
IE-9320-24P4X-E replaces the discontinued IE-5000-12S12P-10G and IE-5000-12S12P10G=, whose end-of-sale date was July 26, 2024. Those older switches combine copper and fiber downlinks. Migration therefore requires an endpoint-media review rather than assuming every existing fiber connection transfers directly to the replacement's copper access ports.
IE-9320-24P4X-E provides 720W with two PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400 supplies or 320W with one PWR-RGD-AC-DC-400. A single PWR-RGD-AC-DC-250 provides 170W; a single PWR-RGD-AC-DC-H provides 70W. These are shared endpoint-power budgets, so the supply configuration must match combined powered-device demand rather than the number of occupied ports.
IE-9320-24P4X-E supports 1G and 10G uplink transceivers, including SFP-10G-SR-I= for industrial-temperature multimode links and SFP-10G-LR10-I= for industrial-temperature single-mode links. Their supported reaches are 400 m and 10 km respectively. Specify matching fiber, remote-end optics, and temperature grade when assembling the optical connection.
Four stack-capable Catalyst IE9300 Rugged switches can form a Cisco StackWise stack, including IE-9320-24P4X-E. The chassis has two dedicated stacking connectors. CAB-STK-0.5M= and CAB-STK-1M= provide the cable choices. Confirm member-model compatibility and the intended software release before specifying an extension to an existing stack.
IE-9320-24P4X-E includes Static routing, RIP, OSPF with up to 1000 routes, OSPFv3, and PBR under Network Essentials. These features make the supplied configuration Layer 3 capable. BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS belong to Network Advantage, so routing requirements should be settled before selecting the network-license tier.
IE-9320-24P4X-E supplies PoE+ on its 24 Gigabit copper access ports, while IE-9320-24T4X-E has non-PoE copper access ports. Buyers powering endpoints through Ethernet need the powered configuration. Installations whose connected devices receive power separately can specify the non-PoE model without buying endpoint-power capability they do not require.
IE-9320-24P4X-E includes Network Essentials, while IE-9320-24P4X-A includes Network Advantage. The latter adds BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS routing capabilities. Buyers staying within the Essentials feature set can retain the E configuration; deployments requiring those additional routing protocols need the Advantage configuration or its corresponding perpetual license upgrade.
IE-9320-24P4X-E has four 10G SFP+ uplinks, whereas IE-9320-24P4S-E has four 1G SFP uplinks. The X configuration suits buyers requiring 10G aggregation connections. The S configuration suits installations retaining 1G fiber aggregation, where the uplink speed rather than the access-port role determines the hardware selection.
