IPv4 static routing provides fixed next-hop connectivity under LAN Base; dynamic routing requires IP Lite rather than the included tier. IE-2000-4T-G-B carries 256 MB DRAM and 64 MB onboard flash for system operation and image storage. Its forwarding resources include an 8000-entry unicast MAC table and a 2 MB egress buffer. DHCP Snooping and Dynamic ARP Inspection provide access controls, while REP supports industrial ring configurations. EtherNet/IP and PROFINET integrate the Cisco IE 2000 with industrial automation tools. Local commissioning uses the RJ-45 or USB mini-Type B console connection; remote administration includes SSH, Telnet, HTTPS, and SNMP. Two alarm inputs and one output relay connect fault signaling to external alarm equipment.

For a like-for-like replacement pool, SD-IE-1GB= can retain operating software and configuration for transfer into replacement hardware. The optional memory card is not included by default. Decide whether each spare needs its own SD-IE-1GB= or will reuse the failed unit's card before issuing the PO.
When an existing control panel is being expanded, the switch requires 50.8 mm clearance above, below, beside, and in front of the chassis. Cabinet layout must reserve that space rather than considering chassis dimensions alone. Check the available mounting envelope and grounding arrangement before placing the PO.
When standardizing power wiring across cabinets, primary and secondary DC feeds must come from independent sources to provide feed redundancy. With both sources healthy, the switch draws from the higher-voltage source. Specify the external power arrangement and independent upstream circuits before including redundant power in the purchase requirement.
Gigabit speeds on all access ports
IE-2000-4T-G-B limits its four access ports to 100 Mbps. IE-3100-4T2S-E provides four Gigabit copper access ports and changes the uplinks to SFP.
PoE power for connected endpoints
IE-2000-4T-G-B supplies no endpoint power over Ethernet. IE-3200-8P2S-E provides eight Gigabit PoE+ ports and two Gigabit SFP uplinks, increasing access-port density.
