7.6 Gbps switching capacity and 5.66 Mpps forwarding provide the switching engine’s published performance limits. IE-2000U-4S-G carries 256 MB DRAM for operating software. Two alarm inputs and one output relay connect local fault signaling, while separate DC-A and DC-B connections accept external power feeds. Redundant operation requires independent power sources, not two connections to the same upstream supply.
IE-2000U-4S-G is available new sealed or certified refurbished. Refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on, POST, clean boot, rated-speed links on every port, and optics bay recognition; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. ORM warranties are up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco’s separate five-year limited hardware warranty cannot extend beyond July 31, 2029. When configuring replacement units before dispatch, prepare the management IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and access passwords required by initial setup. PoE power for connected endpoints
IE-2000U-4S-G has no PoE output or built-in copper access ports. Endpoint power requires a separate arrangement rather than this all-SFP configuration.
PRP redundancy for utility traffic
IE-2000U-4S-G does not support PRP. Industrial Ethernet 2000U restricts that capability to models with eight or sixteen access ports, excluding this four-access-port configuration.

IE-2000U-4S-G identifies the Industrial Ethernet 2000U family, four Fast Ethernet SFP access ports, and Gigabit uplinks. The 4S segment describes the access configuration; G identifies the Gigabit uplink configuration. LAN Base is included without a separate license suffix.
IE-2000U-4S-G supports Cisco Configuration Professional, Cisco IOS CLI, and SNMP management. CLI access uses the RJ-45 console, USB mini-Type B console, SSH, or Telnet. Configuration Professional provides a PC-based graphical interface; SNMP versions 1, 2, and 3 support network management.
IE-2000U-4S-G reached end of sale on July 26, 2024. Cisco support ends July 31, 2029, subject to entitlement. IE-3100-4T2S-E and IE-3100-8T4S-E are its named replacements, with different copper and SFP connection layouts.

Yes, IE-2000U-4S-G accepts separate DC-A and DC-B feeds. Independent sources are required for meaningful redundancy. The switch operates from one source and draws from the higher-voltage source when both are present; these are external feeds, not redundant internal PSU modules.
Industrial Ethernet 2000U switches mount on a DIN rail using the supplied rear spring-loaded latch. The chassis is not a full-width rack switch. Allow access to front-panel connections and preserve the required airflow clearance when specifying an enclosure or mounting position.
Industrial Ethernet 2000U enclosure limits include -40°C to 70°C in a vented enclosure and -40°C to 60°C in a sealed enclosure. Ambient temperatures above 60°C fall outside the safety certifications. Optic temperature ratings also constrain the permitted installation conditions.
IE-2000U-16TC-GP supports four powered copper ports; IE-2000U-4S-G provides no PoE output. Both models are discontinued. The former addresses legacy installations needing powered copper connections, while the latter matches fiber-only connections without endpoint power delivery.
IE-3100-8T4S-E has twelve Ethernet ports versus six on IE-2000U-4S-G. The current replacement includes eight copper ports and four SFP ports, changing the fiber-only layout. Specify the replacement for that expanded configuration; the discontinued model matches existing six-port installations.
