C1200-48P-4G is a Cisco Catalyst 1200 smart managed rack-mount switch with 48 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports and four 1G SFP uplinks. It targets small and medium business access networks, runs customized Linux OS software, and provides Layer 2+ switching with static routing.
C1200-48P-4G identifies a Catalyst 1200 switch with 48 PoE+ 10/100/1000 access ports and four Gigabit SFP uplinks. C1200 is the Catalyst 1200 product ID prefix, 48P follows the 48-port PoE+ description, and 4G matches the four Gigabit SFP uplinks.
C1200-48P-4G is managed through an on-box web UI, CLI, Cisco Business Dashboard, Cisco Business mobile app, SNMP, HTTP/HTTPS, Telnet, and SSH. The switch also has RJ-45 and USB-C console access, so staging can use local console or IP-based methods.
C1200-48P-4G does not use a separate Cisco campus license tier in the ordering configuration. The switch runs customized Linux OS software as a smart managed platform, so quotes should focus on the hardware, required 1G SFP optics, console cables, and rack accessories.

Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 1200. C1200-48P-4G remains an available-order Catalyst 1200 model, while CBS250 predecessor models have separate end-of-sale notices and last support dates ending October 31, 2029 for those older products.

C1200-48P-4X carries four 10G SFP+ uplinks where C1200-48P-4G carries four 1G SFP uplinks. Both keep 48 PoE+ access ports and a 375W PoE budget, so C1200-48P-4X fits faster uplink designs and C1200-48P-4G fits 1G fiber uplinks.
