C1200-48T-4G is a managed Layer 2+ access switch with 48 non-PoE Gigabit Ethernet copper ports and four fixed 1G SFP uplinks in a rack-mount 1U chassis. The Cisco Catalyst 1200 Series serves small and medium-sized business networks connecting computers, printers, servers, and other independently powered devices. Copper connections support 10/100/1000 speeds, allowing existing Fast Ethernet equipment to remain connected alongside Gigabit endpoints. C1200-48P-4G adds PoE+ to the same access-port density for buyers who need Ethernet-delivered endpoint power. This 48-port Gigabit Ethernet access switch keeps uplink connectivity separate from the copper access connections rather than requiring a removable uplink card. One fan provides active cooling, so cabinet placement should account for ventilation rather than assume silent desktop operation.
C1200-48T-4G price for new stock is $703.50, a 30.9% saving from the Cisco list price of $1,018.07. C1200-48T-4G refurb price is $288.75. C1200-48T-4G is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

104 Gbps switching capacity supports nonblocking traffic across the built-in connections. 77.38 Mpps forwarding applies to 64-byte packets, providing the packet-rate figure needed when comparing small-packet workloads. Static routing supports 32 IPv4 routes and 16 IP interfaces for local communication between configured networks; dynamically learned routing is outside this feature set. C1200-48T-4G runs a customized Linux OS with 1 GB of DRAM and 512 MB of flash for its embedded software and configuration. A shared 3 MB packet buffer serves traffic across the ports rather than providing a separate allocation per connection. The address table accommodates 8000 MAC entries, while VLAN configuration supports 255 active VLANs simultaneously. LACP supports four aggregation groups with eight active ports per group, and STP/RSTP/MSTP provide loop-control options. Eight hardware queues provide traffic-priority separation. 38.8W worst-case system consumption at 110V supplies the maximum draw to use when allocating rack AC power, without an endpoint-power allowance.
ORM Systems offers C1200-48T-4G new sealed or certified refurbished; ORM warranties are up to 3-year extended for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, clean boot, rated-speed links on every port, optics bay recognition, PSU status, and fan status; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. Specify this switch's condition and quantity on the PO for enterprise or volume purchasing. POs are accepted, Net-30 is available for government buyers, and RMA with advance replacement operates across UK, EU, US, and MEA.

When an installed CBS250-48T-4G-NA reaches replacement planning, its October 29, 2024 end-of-sale milestone separates legacy stock purchases from a new hardware standard. Record the existing regional PID, management configuration, and connected devices, then specify C1200-48T-4G and any separately required link components on the replacement PO.
When multiple offices need a common switch configuration, text-editable configuration files and SCP auto-configuration support a repeatable staging process. Two firmware images provide an alternate image during upgrades. Define the approved configuration file, firmware version, and file-transfer credentials before specifying the staging requirements on the PO.
When a test bench must capture traffic before production approval, port mirroring permits four source ports to feed one destination port. Assign the capture connection and define the test traffic before ordering the staging equipment, including CAB-CONSOLE-USB-C if a USB-C console connection is required.
Ethernet power for connected endpoints
C1200-48T-4G supplies no endpoint power. C1200-48P-4G adds PoE+ across its access ports with a shared 375W budget; size the total endpoint load before selecting that variant.
10G uplinks to distribution
C1200-48T-4G has 1G SFP uplinks, not 10G SFP+. C1200-48T-4X provides four 10G SFP+ uplinks while retaining the same copper access-port count for higher-speed distribution connections.
Automatic learning of network routes
C1200-48T-4G supports static routing with 32 IPv4 routes and 16 IP interfaces. Networks requiring dynamically learned routes need a switch with dynamic routing support.
Fanless operation near occupied workspaces
C1200-48T-4G uses one fan. C1200-24T-4G is fanless but reduces copper access density to 24 ports; account for additional chassis if endpoint counts remain unchanged.

Robust and reliable. The Catalyst 1200 provides excellent gigabit performance and stability.
C1200-48T-4G identifies a Catalyst 1200 switch with 48 non-PoE copper ports and four Gigabit SFP uplinks. C1200 denotes the series, 48 denotes the copper port count, T corresponds to the non-PoE data-port variant, and 4G identifies the four Gigabit uplinks. The chassis is rack-mountable.
C1200-48T-4G supports HTTP/HTTPS web management, CLI over SSH or Telnet, RJ-45 and USB-C console access, Cisco Business Dashboard, and Cisco Business mobile app management. SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3 provide monitoring. An optional external USB Bluetooth dongle also enables browser or CLI access; include any required console cable separately.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 1200. C1200-48T-4G is not subject to the retirement dates for the older CBS250 regional models it replaces. Those predecessor milestones must not be treated as a support deadline for this switch when preparing a replacement purchase order.
C1200-48T-4G is offered new sealed or certified refurbished, with a separate Cisco limited lifetime hardware warranty. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units. Every condition has 30-day returns; terms apply. ORM's condition warranties are separate from Cisco's.
C1200-48T-4G replaces CBS250-48T-4G-AR, CBS250-48T-4G-AU, CBS250-48T-4G-EU, CBS250-48T-4G-TW, CBS250-48T-4G-JP, CBS250-48T-4G-NA, CBS250-48T-4G-SP, CBS250-48T-4G-UK, CBS250-48T-4G-BR, and CBS250-48T-4G-IN. End of sale was October 29, 2024 for the first nine variants and January 31, 2025 for the Indian variant. Verify the regional predecessor before issuing the replacement PO.
C1200-48T-4G supports four fixed 1G SFP uplinks, not 10G SFP+ connections. Compatible optical choices include GLC-SX-MMD for multimode fiber and GLC-LH-SMD for single-mode fiber. Select the transceiver PID to match fiber type and link distance, and include the required optics as separate purchase-order items.
Yes, C1200-48T-4G supports static inter-VLAN routing with 32 IPv4 static routes and 16 IP interfaces. VLAN interfaces can act as Layer 3 interfaces, but routing remains static rather than dynamically learned. Check the number of connected networks and required next-hop entries before assigning gateway duties.
No, C1200-48T-4G uses an internal AC power supply accepting 100-240V AC at 50-60 Hz. Maximum system consumption is 38.8W at 110V, and the package includes a power cord. The switch does not deliver PoE to connected endpoints, so endpoint power must be arranged independently.
Yes, C1200-48T-4G fits a 19-inch rack as a 1U switch. The chassis measures 445 mm wide, 288 mm deep, and 44 mm high, with a weight of 3.95 kg. RCKMNT-1RU-1K= is a compatible rack-mount kit; confirm mounting hardware requirements when preparing the order.
C1200-48T-4G has non-PoE access ports, whereas C1200-48P-4G supplies PoE+ with a shared 375W power budget. Both provide 48 Gigabit copper access ports and four Gigabit SFP uplinks. The T variant suits independently powered endpoints; the P variant suits buyers who have sized an Ethernet-powered endpoint load.
C1200-48T-4G carries four 1G SFP uplinks, while C1200-48T-4X carries four 10G SFP+ uplinks. Both retain 48 non-PoE Gigabit copper access ports. Choose the 4G variant for Gigabit uplink connections; the 4X variant suits orders requiring 10G connections without changing copper access density.
C1200-48T-4G provides 48 copper access ports, whereas C1200-24T-4G provides 24. Both models retain four Gigabit SFP uplinks, so the difference is access density rather than uplink speed. The larger model suits a single higher-port-count installation; the smaller model suits orders needing fewer copper connections.
C1200-48T-4G provides 104 Gbps switching capacity and 77.38 Mpps forwarding for 64-byte packets. Its 3 MB packet buffer is shared across the ports, and the MAC table supports 8000 entries. Compare both capacity and packet rate when assessing traffic requirements rather than treating either figure as interchangeable.
