Static routing and RIP v2 support inter-VLAN connectivity, while PBR selects a next hop using access-control rules; OSPF is not supported on this model. 990 IPv4 routes provide the combined static and dynamic routing ceiling rather than separate allowances for each route type. C1300-8T-E-2G runs a customized Linux operating system with 1 GB DRAM and 1 GB flash, keeping working memory separate from image storage. A dynamically shared 1.5 MB packet buffer serves traffic across the ports. Browser management and a scriptable CLI provide local configuration paths alongside centralized management options.
