C1300-16XTS combines eight 10G copper ports with eight fixed 10G SFP+ interfaces in a managed, non-PoE desktop switch for small-business and branch networks. Both connection types support 10G and 1G operation, allowing copper endpoints and fiber links to use the required media without a removable uplink card. Layer 2+ functionality adds local routing to the switching feature set, while a separate Gigabit Ethernet out-of-band management port keeps administration off the data interfaces. 320 Gbps switching capacity supports simultaneous traffic across the copper and fiber interfaces without oversubscription in the switching fabric. 238.1 Mpps forwarding at a 64-byte packet size defines the packet-processing limit for small-frame workloads. Static routing and RIP v2 handle local inter-VLAN traffic, while PBR directs selected IPv4 or IPv6 flows to a chosen next hop; OSPF is not supported. The combined dynamic and static IPv4 routing capacity reaches 7168 routes, with 256 IP interfaces available for routed ports, link aggregation groups, or VLAN interfaces. C1300-16XTS uses 1 GB DRAM for runtime processing and 1 GB flash for software storage, while a dynamically shared 3 MB packet buffer accommodates transient traffic bursts. STP/RSTP/MSTP manages loop prevention, and LACP permits eight aggregation groups with eight ports per group. Dual software images retain an alternate image during firmware maintenance. 35.2W maximum system consumption at 220V establishes the electrical load without an endpoint-power allowance, while one fan provides active cooling.

Replacing discontinued CBS350-16XTS-NA hardware creates a part-number change on the purchase order. C1300-16XTS is the migration model, while the predecessor ended sale on October 29, 2024. Review existing copper and fiber connections, preserve the required accessory quantities, and specify the replacement PID rather than reordering the discontinued switch.
Labs validating larger Ethernet frames need to align switch and endpoint MTU settings before deploying prepared configurations. Jumbo frames can reach 9000 bytes, but the default MTU is 2000 bytes. Include the required frame size in the staging instructions and confirm matching endpoint settings before approving the purchase order.
Sites standardizing switch placement in equipment cabinets need a separate mounting accessory for this compact chassis. RCKMNT-CMPCT-1K= provides compatible rack brackets, which are not included with the base unit. Confirm cabinet mounting requirements and include the mounting kit quantity for the switches requiring rack installation before releasing the PO.
PoE-powered endpoint connections
C1300-16XTS does not supply endpoint power. C1300-8MGP-2X provides PoE+ with a shared 120W budget, but its copper ports reach 2.5G rather than 10G.
OSPF-based dynamic routing
C1300-16XTS offers static routing and RIP v2 rather than OSPF. Catalyst 1300X supports OSPF v2/v3, but its access-port configurations are Gigabit or multigigabit instead of 10G.
Fanless operation near workspaces
C1300-16XTS has one cooling fan. C1300-8MGP-2X is fanless, but replaces the 10G copper configuration with four Gigabit ports and four 2.5G ports.

C1300-16XTS identifies a Catalyst 1300 switch with 16 data ports: eight 10G copper ports and eight 10G SFP+ ports. C1300 denotes the series, 16 denotes the data-port count, and XTS identifies this mixed 10 Gigabit copper/SFP+ configuration. The additional Gigabit management port is separate from those data ports.
C1300-16XTS supports a browser web UI, CLI access through SSH or Telnet, RJ-45 and USB-C console connections, SNMP, Cisco Business Dashboard, and the Cisco Business mobile app. HTTP/HTTPS serves the web interface, while an embedded Dashboard probe avoids a separate probe appliance. An optional Bluetooth USB dongle also provides browser and CLI access.
C1300-16XTS requires no separate switch license purchase or mandatory software subscription, and software updates are available without an additional license or service contract. The included switching and routing functions do not require a separately purchased feature tier. Specify hardware and accessories rather than adding a network-license term to the PO.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 1300. C1300-16XTS remains an orderable member of the series rather than the discontinued product in its migration chain. The discontinued CBS350-16XTS-NA predecessor ended sale on October 29, 2024; that milestone does not apply to this replacement.
C1300-16XTS replaces the discontinued CBS350-16XTS-AR, CBS350-16XTS-AU, CBS350-16XTS-BR, CBS350-16XTS-CN, CBS350-16XTS-EU, CBS350-16XTS-JP, CBS350-16XTS-NA, CBS350-16XTS-SP, CBS350-16XTS-TW, CBS350-16XTS-UK, and CBS350-16XTS-IN. The first ten ended sale on October 29, 2024; CBS350-16XTS-IN ended sale on January 31, 2025. Order the current replacement rather than those discontinued regional PIDs.
SFP-10G-SR and SFP-10G-LR are supported 10G optical choices for C1300-16XTS, while SFP-H10GB-CU1M, SFP-H10GB-CU3M, and SFP-H10GB-CU5M provide direct-attach copper links. Select the media and reach required for each connection before specifying quantities. SFP-10G-SR uses multimode fiber; SFP-10G-LR uses single-mode fiber, so their fiber requirements are not interchangeable.
C1300-16XTS supports an eight-member hardware stack using Front Panel Stacking with compatible C1300 Family 2 switches. C1300-12XS, C1300-24XS, C1300-24XT, and C1300-24XTS are same-family options. Cross-stacking with C1300 Family 1 or Catalyst 1300X is not supported, so match the existing stack family before ordering another member.
C1300-16XTS supports static routing, RIP v2, and PBR, but not OSPF. The 10 Gigabit Catalyst 1300 models support 7168 combined dynamic and static IPv4 routes and 256 IP interfaces. OSPF v2/v3 belongs to Catalyst 1300X, so an OSPF requirement calls for that different series rather than a license upgrade.
C1300-16XTS is a desktop-format switch that can be rack-mounted with RCKMNT-CMPCT-1K=, ordered separately. The chassis measures 268 mm wide, 300 mm deep, and 43.94 mm high, rather than spanning a full equipment rack. Specify RCKMNT-CMPCT-1K= when the installation requires cabinet mounting instead of desktop placement.
C1300-16XTS uses an internal 100-240V AC supply and has no second internal redundant-supply option. Worst-case system consumption is 33.36W at 110V or 35.2W at 220V. One cooling fan operates within a -5°C to 50°C operating range; cold starts require at least 0°C ambient temperature.
C1300-8MGP-2X provides PoE+ with a shared 120W budget, whereas C1300-16XTS does not power endpoints. The models are not interchangeable 10G access configurations. Choose C1300-8MGP-2X for powered Gigabit and 2.5G devices; choose C1300-16XTS for independently powered 10G copper and fiber connections where endpoint power is supplied separately.
C1300-16XTS receives AC power through an internal supply, while C1300-8T-E-2G uses external power. That changes the power arrangement required with the switch. C1300-16XTS suits direct chassis power connections; C1300-8T-E-2G suits externally powered desktop installations and is a Gigabit model, not a 10G equivalent.
C1300-24XTS has twelve 10G copper ports and twelve 10G SFP+ ports, compared with eight of each on C1300-16XTS. Both configurations use separate copper and SFP+ data ports rather than shared combo connections. C1300-24XTS suits larger connection counts; C1300-16XTS suits the smaller mixed-media requirement.
C1300-16XTS-RF identifies Cisco-remanufactured hardware, not ORM-certified refurbished C1300-16XTS stock. The refurbishment programs are distinct even when the underlying copper and SFP+ configuration matches. State whether the PO requires the Cisco -RF PID or ORM's certified refurbished condition, and keep those descriptions separate when reviewing the quoted line item.
ORM offers C1300-16XTS new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to 1 year. Both conditions have 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's separate platform warranty is limited lifetime with return-to-factory replacement.
