C9500-24Q-E identifies a Catalyst 9500 switch: C9500 names the family, 24 denotes the port count, Q denotes the 40G QSFP+ configuration, and E selects Network Essentials. The part number describes fixed fiber interfaces, not a copper access switch or a removable uplink-module bundle.
Cisco Catalyst 9500 supports local management through its CLI and embedded WebUI, plus NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC, and SNMP for automation and monitoring. Cisco Catalyst Center provides controller-based workflows with the required licensing. An optional Bluetooth management interface supplies another access method for configuration and troubleshooting.
C9500-24Q-E reached end of sale on April 30, 2024, with Cisco support ending April 30, 2029 for eligible covered equipment. C9500-32C is the current hardware replacement.
