MS250-24P-HW combines cloud-managed Layer 3 access switching with 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports for phones, wireless access points, cameras, and wired clients. Four fixed 10G SFP+ uplinks connect the access switch to aggregation equipment without an uplink expansion card. The Cisco Meraki MS250 uses a rack-mount 1U chassis for branch and campus wiring closets, with endpoint connectivity and upstream connections presented on separate interfaces. The discontinued MS250-24-HW omits PoE, distinguishing that unpowered sibling from this configuration. Voice VLAN support separates telephone traffic, while configurable quality-of-service queues prioritize voice, video, and data traffic. Administrators provision the switch through the Meraki cloud rather than maintaining a local switch configuration CLI, and remote diagnostics include cable testing and packet capture.
MS250-24P-HW price for new stock is $973.35. MS250-24P-HW refurb price is $290.85. MS250-24P-HW is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

128 Gbps switching capacity provides a nonblocking fabric for the access and uplink interfaces. 95.24 Mpps forwarding supports packet processing independently of the switching-capacity figure. 370W of shared PoE+ power supplies connected endpoints, with dynamic allocation controlling how that budget is distributed. Static routing and OSPFv2 support routed access, while DHCP server and relay functions handle address-service requirements. MS250-24P-HW maintains 16000 MAC forwarding entries for learned Ethernet destinations. STP and RSTP provide loop prevention, and LACP supports aggregated links, including multichassis aggregates across physically stacked switches. The Meraki MS family integrates SNMP and SYSLOG with external monitoring systems; DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, and IPv4 and IPv6 ACLs provide additional traffic controls. 434W full-load consumption is the figure to use when sizing the electrical load, rather than the rating printed on a power module. Variable-speed fans provide active cooling, so this is not a fanless switch. Scheduled firmware updates remain under administrator control.
ORM Systems offers MS250-24P-HW new sealed with up to a 3-year extended warranty or certified refurbished with up to a 1-year warranty; every condition includes 30-day returns, terms apply. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, with PoE output verified under load on every powered port, firmware verified, and configuration wiped to factory default. Specify the required condition, quantity, cloud license, and accessories on the purchase order. Enterprise and volume orders accept POs, with Net-30 for government and RMA with advance replacement; regional stock and RMA cover the UK, EU, US, and MEA.

Lifecycle Status | End of sale August 8, 2025 |
A refresh of MS320-24P-HW equipment has a named migration path to this switch. The older model reached end of sale on March 31, 2017, and end of support on March 31, 2024. Reconcile the installed inventory and confirm the remaining deployment period before placing the replacement PO.
A multisite purchase needs consistent access-port settings and separate administrative responsibilities across locations. Configuration templates apply common settings, while role-based administration and searchable change logs support review of changes. Virtual Stacking groups thousands of ports without physically connecting members; define site templates and administrator roles before the PO.
An access-layer redesign that needs dynamic routing and gateway failover must account for OSPF and Warm Spare not operating concurrently. DHCP server and relay services remain available, but the routing and failover choice requires a separate design decision. Confirm the selected gateway arrangement and required services before the PO.
30W on every powered port
MS250-24P-HW has a shared 370W PoE+ budget, below the 720W required for 24 ports drawing 30W simultaneously; connected demand must remain within that shared ceiling.
Concurrent OSPF and gateway failover
MS250-24P-HW cannot run OSPF and Warm Spare concurrently. A design requiring dynamic route exchange alongside VRRP-based gateway failover on the same switch exceeds this combination limit.
Local command-line switch configuration
MS250-24P-HW uses web-based Meraki cloud management rather than a switch configuration CLI. A purchasing requirement for local command-line configuration is outside its management model.

MS250-24P-HW identifies MS250 series hardware with 24 Gigabit Ethernet access ports and PoE+ support. MS250 names the series, 24 identifies the access-port count, P distinguishes the powered configuration, and HW identifies the hardware ordering item. The hardware PID is separate from the Enterprise cloud-management license purchased for operation.
MS250-24P-HW is configured through the web-based Meraki Dashboard, with SNMP and SYSLOG integration for external monitoring. Dashboard supplies port configuration, usage statistics, remote cable testing, packet capture, and scheduled firmware updates. The management model does not use a local switch configuration CLI; mobile notifications provide alerts rather than another configuration interface.
MS250-24P-HW reached end of sale on August 8, 2025, and its end-of-support date is August 8, 2030. The end-of-sale milestone has already passed; the support milestone has not. Continued use and spare purchases therefore need a defined operating period rather than an open-ended hardware standard.
MS250-24P-HW is available new sealed or certified refurbished from ORM Systems. ORM warranty is up to a 3-year extended term for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units; both have 30-day returns, terms apply. Cisco’s lifetime hardware warranty is separate, with Cisco service ending August 8, 2030.
MS250-24P-HW requires an Enterprise cloud-management license separate from the hardware purchase. Enterprise license terms are 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 years, making one year the minimum listed term. LIC-MS250-24P-1YR is the one-year ordering option; certified refurbished condition does not eliminate the need for an operating license.
MS250-24P-HW replaces MS320-24P-HW as the corresponding powered 24-port migration option. MS320-24P-HW reached end of sale on March 31, 2017, and end of support on March 31, 2024. Because the replacement has also reached end of sale, a refresh purchase needs a defined remaining deployment period.
MS250-24P-HW provides a shared 370W PoE+ budget across 24 powered access ports, with a maximum of 30W per port. Supplying 30W simultaneously on all ports would require 720W, which exceeds the available budget. Size the combined endpoint demand rather than multiplying the per-port maximum into an assumed available total.
MS250 physical stacking connects eight members with 80 Gbps of stack bandwidth through dedicated stacking interfaces. Cable options are MA-CBL-40G-50CM at 0.5 m, MA-CBL-40G-1M at 1 m, and MA-CBL-40G-3M at 3 m. These cables are separate ordering items, unlike dashboard Virtual Stacking, which groups ports without physical stack connections.
The Meraki MS250 powered 24-port switch has four fixed 10G SFP+ uplink interfaces. No removable uplink card is required to provide those ports, and the chassis does not offer an uplink expansion bay. Optical transceivers are separate purchases, so include the required fiber connection components on the PO.
MS250-24P-HW supports Layer 3 operation through static routing and OSPFv2, together with DHCP server and relay functions. Warm Spare uses VRRP for gateway failover, but OSPF and Warm Spare do not operate concurrently. A routed design must select the required routing or failover arrangement rather than assuming both can run together.
The MS250 powered 24-port switch includes one MA-PWR-640WAC, while a second MA-PWR-640WAC is ordered separately for internal power redundancy. The supplies support hot swapping, but two supplies are not included as standard. Specify the additional MA-PWR-640WAC explicitly when the purchase requires both power-supply positions populated.
The MS250 24-port PoE+ switch occupies 1U and uses variable-speed fans rather than fanless cooling. Its dimensions are 43.8 mm high, 484.6 mm wide, and 378 mm deep, with a weight of 4.8 kg. Allow for cable routing and ventilation when checking the intended rack position.
MS250-24P-HW provides PoE+ endpoint power, whereas MS250-24-HW is non-PoE. Both models have reached end of sale, so this comparison applies to maintaining an existing installation rather than selecting a new hardware standard. The powered model serves connected devices needing switch-delivered power; the unpowered model serves independently powered endpoints.
MS250-24P-HW ships with MA-PWR-640WAC, whereas MS250-48FP-HW ships with MA-PWR-1025WAC. Both models have reached end of sale, and their power modules are not interchangeable ordering choices. The first fits an existing MA-PWR-640WAC spare-supply standard; the second requires the MA-PWR-1025WAC supply standard when maintaining installed hardware.
MS250-24P-HW uses Enterprise licensing, while C9300L-24P-4X-M offers Enterprise and Advanced license options. These are separate hardware and licensing selections, not an MS250 software upgrade. Existing MS250 buyers retain the legacy licensing arrangement; buyers requiring the newer model’s license choices can specify C9300L-24P-4X-M as a migration candidate.
