MS225-24P-HW is a cloud-managed stackable access switch for branch and campus closets with 24 1GbE RJ-45 PoE+ ports and four fixed 10GbE SFP+ uplinks. This 24-port Gigabit PoE+ access switch runs at Layer 2+ for access-edge routing needs, then uses the Meraki dashboard rather than a local CLI for configuration. The Cisco Meraki MS225 series fits rack-mount 1U deployments where access ports power phones, cameras and APs. Fixed uplinks keep module selection out of the base switch order, while physical stacking links can combine the platform with MS210 stacks. MS225-24-HW is the closest non-PoE sibling for buyers who need the same 24-port layout without powered access ports.
MS225-24P-HW price for new stock is $1,372.35, a 21.6% saving from the Cisco list price of $1,750.00. MS225-24P-HW refurb price is $131.25. MS225-24P-HW is in stock and available for next-day dispatch. (terms applied)

128 Gbps switching capacity and 95.24 Mpps forwarding support Gigabit access with 10G aggregation. 370W of available PoE+ is shared across powered endpoints, with up to 30W available per port before total-budget allocation. MS225-24P-HW maintains 16000 MAC forwarding entries, supports 4094 VLANs, and carries STP/RSTP, BPDU guard, root guard, loop guard, UDLD, LACP, IGMP snooping, IPv4 ACLs and IPv6 ACLs. Static routing and DHCP Relay make the Meraki MS225 a Layer 2+ edge switch rather than a dynamic-routing distribution platform. The cloud-managed stackable access switch uses Web management through the Meraki cloud for zero-touch provisioning, scheduled firmware upgrades, SNMP, SYSLOG, remote cable testing, ping, traceroute, link-failure alerting and remote packet capture. 100-240V AC input and -5°C to 50°C operation cover standard wiring-closet power and environment checks.
MS225-24P-HW is available from ORM Systems new sealed or certified refurbished; the switch carries Cisco full lifetime hardware warranty, while ORM offers new units with up to 3-year extended warranty and certified refurbished units with up to 1 year. Refurbished managed PoE units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, every port linking at rated speed, PoE output under load, optics bay recognition, stack adapter negotiation, PSU status, firmware verification and configuration wipe to factory default. Specify the switch condition, Meraki license term and any MA-CBL-40G-50CM, MA-CBL-40G-1M or MA-CBL-40G-3M stacking cables on the PO. Returns are 30 days on every condition, terms apply, with PO accepted, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement and UK, EU, US and MEA stock/RMA coverage.
| Key Specs | Key Spec Values |
|---|---|
Operating System | Meraki |
License Tier | Enterprise |
Port Configuration | 24 x 1G PoE+, 4 x 10G SFP+ |
PoE Budget | 370W |
Stacking | Physical stacking, 8 members |
Max Power Draw | 448W |
A branch closet needing cloud provisioning and local endpoint power can standardize on 24 1GbE PoE+ access ports with four 10G SFP+ uplinks. Specify the Meraki license term with the hardware and size the 370W budget against actual AP, camera and phone draw before the PO.
An existing MS210 or MS225 access stack can add this model when physical stacking is required. Confirm the eight-member maximum, reserve the two stacking ports, and order MA-CBL-40G-50CM, MA-CBL-40G-1M or MA-CBL-40G-3M cables in the lengths needed for the rack layout.
A site replacing midspan injectors can consolidate phones, cameras and access points onto PoE+ switch ports. Compare the 24 powered ports against the shared 370W budget, then list the hardware, license term and any 10G uplink accessories as separate lines on the order.
Dynamic routing protocols
MS225 supports Static routing and DHCP Relay only. Select Catalyst 9300-M series for Layer 3 access designs that require a cloud-managed switch with dynamic routing.
Multigigabit endpoint access
Fixed downlinks are 10/100/1000BASE-T. Choose MS150 series for access models with mGig options and up to 60W PoE++ where high-speed APs drive the refresh.
740W PoE budget
MS225-24P-HW provides 370W of available PoE+. MS225-48FP-HW provides 740W, but it changes the order to 48 access ports.

MS225-24P-HW is a Cisco Meraki MS225 cloud-managed Layer 2+ access switch with 24 1GbE RJ-45 PoE+ ports, four fixed 10GbE SFP+ uplinks and a 370W PoE budget. The hardware is rack-mount 1U and uses Meraki cloud management for provisioning, monitoring and firmware updates.
MS225-24P-HW identifies Cisco Meraki MS225 hardware with 24 Gigabit Ethernet access ports and PoE. The MS225 segment names the series, 24P matches the 24-port PoE model in the hardware table, and HW distinguishes the hardware appliance from the LIC-MS225-24P-1YR license line.
MS225-24P-HW is managed through the Web-based Meraki cloud dashboard, not a local CLI for switch configuration. The platform also supports SNMP and SYSLOG integrations, remote diagnostics, scheduled firmware upgrades, zero-touch provisioning, event logs and per-port or per-client usage statistics from the dashboard.
MS225-24P-HW requires a Meraki MS225-24P license and support entitlement for dashboard operation. Co-term Enterprise licensing starts with LIC-MS225-24P-1YR, and subscription licensing for MS225 24-port hardware can use LIC-MS-200-M-E Essentials or LIC-MS-200-M-A Advantage starting at 1 year.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for MS225. MS225-24 and MS225-48 remain active access-switch models, while older MS120 and MS125 families carry end-of-sale status. Confirm license renewal term length before extending a deployed stack.
ORM Systems offers MS225-24P-HW new sealed or certified refurbished, separate from Cisco's full lifetime hardware warranty. New units can include up to 3-year extended ORM warranty, certified refurbished units can include up to 1 year, and every condition has 30-day returns with terms applying.
MS225-24P-HW has 24 PoE+ access ports and a 370W available PoE+ budget. Each powered port can supply up to 30W, but 24 ports at 30W would require 720W, so the budget is shared across connected phones, cameras, APs and other powered devices.
MS225-24P-HW physically stacks up to eight switches with 80 Gbps of stacking bandwidth and is stack-compatible with MS210. Physical stacking uses MA-CBL-40G-50CM, MA-CBL-40G-1M or MA-CBL-40G-3M cables; Virtual Stacking remains a dashboard management feature for larger port groups.
MS225-24P-HW provides 370W PoE+ where MS225-24-HW is the unpowered 24-port model. Both keep the 24-port access format and four 10G SFP+ uplinks; MS225-24P-HW fits powered endpoints, while MS225-24-HW fits endpoints powered elsewhere.
MS225-48LP-HW doubles access density to 48 Gigabit RJ-45 ports where MS225-24P-HW has 24, while both carry a 370W PoE budget. MS225-24P-HW fits smaller closets; MS225-48LP-HW fits denser closets that can share 370W across more powered endpoints.
MS225-24P-HW has four 10G SFP+ uplinks where MS210-24P-HW uses four 1G SFP uplinks. Both are 24-port PoE cloud-managed access models; MS225-24P-HW fits 10G aggregation links, while MS210-24P-HW fits 1G fiber uplink standards.
MS225-24P-HW does not provide dynamic routing; Static routing and DHCP Relay are the Layer 3 functions. Use the switch for Layer 2+ access edges, and select a Layer 3 platform when the access switch must participate in dynamic route exchange.
