SRW2024-K9-EU is a fanless Layer 2+ managed access switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet access ports, two dedicated Gigabit copper uplinks and two Gigabit combo uplinks. The fixed-uplink, non-PoE hardware occupies a standard 1U rack position. The Cisco SG300-28 connects computers, printers and independently powered network equipment, with copper or fiber connectivity available through its combo connections. Each combo connection shares its copper connector and SFP cage, so only one medium operates at a time. The Cisco Small Business 300 family supports office data, voice and wireless networks, with configuration controls for traffic separation and prioritization. The discontinued SRW2024P-K9 adds PoE for compatible powered endpoints; this version requires endpoint power to be supplied separately.

56 Gbps switching capacity accommodates Gigabit traffic across the available connections, while 41.67 Mpps forwarding measures performance with 64-byte packets. 30.3W maximum consumption provides a figure for cabinet power and UPS sizing without an endpoint-power allowance. Static IPv4 routing enables communication between VLANs; dynamic route exchange is not supported. SRW2024-K9-EU carries 128 MB of DRAM and 16 MB of flash for switch operation and software storage. Its 4 Mb packet buffer is shared across the ports rather than reserved independently for each connection. STP, RSTP and MSTP support loop-controlled switching, while LACP supports aggregated links. Browser-based configuration and SNMP provide configuration and monitoring paths. Four hardware queues support traffic prioritization, and 512 ACL rules provide traffic-filtering capacity. These controls allow the Cisco 300 Series to separate forwarding policy, monitoring and access restrictions within an individually managed switch.
Order SRW2024-K9-EU in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, specifying the required quantity and condition on the purchase order. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, optics bay recognition and PSU status; firmware is verified and configuration is wiped to factory default. ORM provides up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units, up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, and 30-day returns on both conditions, with terms applying; Cisco warranty and service ended May 31, 2023. POs are accepted for enterprise and volume requirements, with Net-30 available for government buyers.

When an existing Cisco SG300-28 estate needs replacement stock rather than a network redesign, keep the spare's role separate from a technology refresh. ORM supports RMA with advance replacement across UK, EU, US and MEA regions; specify the required condition, quantity and regional fulfillment requirements on the purchase order.
When inter-VLAN forwarding is being moved from an external router, validate the existing traffic policy before committing hardware. Layer 3 system mode disables VLAN rate limiting and QoS policers, although other advanced QoS features remain operational. Specify the intended operating mode and confirm policy requirements before the purchase order.
When preparing repeatable deployments across multiple offices, DHCP options 66, 67, 82, 129 and 150 support centralized provisioning functions, including configuration-file download. Treat server settings and switch configuration as separate rollout dependencies rather than assuming local setup completes deployment. Specify staging requirements and validate configuration delivery before approving the hardware purchase order.
PoE-powered phones or access points
SRW2024-K9-EU supplies no endpoint power. C1300-24P-4G provides a current 24-port Gigabit PoE alternative with four 1G SFP uplinks; size its power budget separately.
10G uplinks to distribution
SRW2024-K9-EU limits uplinks to 1G. C1300-24T-4X provides a current alternative with 24 Gigabit copper ports and four 10G SFP+ uplinks.
Dynamic route exchange between routers
SRW2024-K9-EU supports static IPv4 routing rather than dynamic route exchange. Networks requiring automatic route learning need a different routing-capable switch or an external router.

SRW2024-K9-EU identifies the Cisco SG300-28 Gigabit managed switch. SRW2024-K9 is the hardware ordering identifier, and EU distinguishes this regional ordering form. The configuration has 28 logical Gigabit ports: 24 access ports, two dedicated copper uplinks and two combo uplinks with selectable copper or SFP connections.
SRW2024-K9-EU supports a built-in HTTP/HTTPS web interface, Telnet or SSH access, and SNMP versions 1, 2c and 3. Browser management covers configuration, monitoring and maintenance, while SNMP supports network-management integration. Specify the required management access and monitoring configuration during staging rather than treating the switch as unmanaged hardware.
No, SRW2024-K9-EU does not supply PoE to connected devices. Phones, access points and other endpoints therefore require an independent power source when connected to this model. Include endpoint power arrangements in the purchase requirements rather than assuming that every Cisco Small Business 300 switch provides powered access ports.
MGBSX1 for multimode fiber and MGBLX1 for single-mode fiber are supported Gigabit SFP choices for the Cisco SG300-28. Each SFP connection shares a combo port with copper, so only one medium operates at a time. Order matching transceivers for both ends of the fiber link.
Yes, SRW2024-K9-EU supports static IPv4 routing between VLANs when configured for routing operation. Routing uses explicitly configured routes rather than dynamic route exchange. Layer 3 system mode disables VLAN rate limiting and QoS policers, so confirm the intended traffic policy before changing the operating mode.
Yes, SRW2024-K9-EU reached end of sale on May 10, 2018, and Cisco support ended May 31, 2023. SG350-28-K9-EU was its initial replacement but is discontinued, as is the subsequent CBS350-24T-4G-EU replacement. The current migration chain ends at C1300-24T-4G.
SRW2024P-K9 supplies PoE, while SRW2024-K9-EU does not supply endpoint power. Both belong to the discontinued Cisco Small Business 300 family, so this comparison concerns matching legacy equipment rather than selecting a current successor. The powered version addresses legacy PoE deployments; the non-PoE version matches independently powered endpoints.
SRW2048-K9 provides 48 Gigabit access ports, compared with 24 on SRW2024-K9-EU. Both are discontinued Cisco Small Business 300 models, and their access-port counts exclude the separate uplink connections. The larger model addresses denser legacy copper installations; this model matches smaller like-for-like replacement requirements.
C1300-24T-4G provides four dedicated 1G SFP uplinks, whereas SRW2024-K9-EU combines two dedicated copper uplinks with two copper/SFP combo uplinks. C1300-24T-4G is the current migration endpoint after discontinued intermediate replacements. The newer model fits dedicated-fiber uplink requirements; the older model serves like-for-like legacy replacement.
ORM offers SRW2024-K9-EU new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty for new units or up to 1 year for refurbished units. Both conditions include 30-day returns; terms apply. Cisco's original limited-lifetime hardware warranty and service ended May 31, 2023.
