SRW2024P-K9 is a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch with 24 PoE access ports, two dedicated copper uplinks and two Gigabit combo uplinks. Each combo connection accepts either copper Ethernet or an SFP connection, with only one medium active at a time. The SG300-28P belongs to the Cisco Small Business 300 family and provides Layer 2+ functionality in a full-width rack chassis. Its endpoint power capability is PoE rather than PoE+, an important distinction when matching phones, cameras and wireless access points. The discontinued SRW2024-K9 provides the corresponding non-PoE configuration for installations where endpoint power comes from another source.

56 Gbps switching capacity and 41.67 Mpps forwarding support wire-speed traffic across the built-in interfaces. A shared 180W PoE allocation requires endpoint power demands to be checked collectively rather than treating every powered port as an independent maximum-power allocation. Static IPv4 routing supports 512 routes and 128 IP interfaces for inter-VLAN communication without a dynamic routing design. SRW2024P-K9 carries 128 MB of memory and 16 MB of flash, while an 8 Mb shared packet buffer accommodates traffic across the ports. The MAC table supports 16384 entries. Browser administration and a scriptable Textview CLI provide configuration options, with SNMP available for monitoring and management.
SRW2024P-K9 is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested, including power-on and POST, rated-speed port links, clean boot, PoE output under load on every powered port, optics bay recognition, PSU and fan status, firmware verification and configuration wiping to factory default. Specify condition, quantity and required accessories on the PO; ORM warranty is up to 3-year extended for new units and up to 1 year for certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply. Cisco service ended April 30, 2020. PO acceptance, Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement and UK / EU / US / MEA regional stock and RMA support enterprise and volume orders.

An office separating workgroups into routed VLANs must account for the operating-mode tradeoff before standardizing configurations. Layer 3 system mode enables IPv4 routing alongside VLAN-aware bridging, but VLAN rate limiting and QoS policers are not operational in that mode. Confirm those policy requirements before specifying the configuration.
A staging bench without a DHCP server needs a management addressing plan before equipment arrives. The initial management address is 192.168.1.254, while DHCP is enabled by default. A DHCP-assigned address changes the browser destination, so record the intended addressing method and reserve the management address before the PO.
PoE+ power for demanding endpoints
SRW2024P-K9 supplies PoE at a maximum of 15.4W per powered port, not PoE+. Endpoints requiring a PoE+ power negotiation exceed this model's supported power class.
10G uplinks to distribution
SRW2024P-K9 has fixed Gigabit uplinks, including its combo SFP connections. The chassis has no removable uplink card path for adding 10G connectivity.

SRW2024P-K9 identifies the Cisco SG300-28P managed Gigabit PoE switch. The complete ordering identifier selects 24 powered access ports, two additional copper Gigabit ports and two Gigabit combo connections. SG300-28P is the model name associated with this part number, rather than a separate hardware option.
SRW2024P-K9 supports browser management over HTTP/HTTPS, Textview CLI administration through the serial console or SSH/Telnet, and SNMP management. The web interface handles configuration, maintenance and monitoring. Cisco FindIT Network and Cisco OnPlus integration also formed part of the original management options; the 300 family is now retired.
Yes, SRW2024P-K9 is discontinued: Cisco end of sale was April 27, 2015, and its last date of support was April 30, 2020. The 300 family is retired and no longer supported by Cisco. Hardware purchased now therefore needs a separate maintenance and replacement arrangement.
ORM Systems offers SRW2024P-K9 new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns are available for 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's original limited lifetime hardware warranty is no longer active; Cisco service ended April 30, 2020.
SRW2024P-K9 provides a shared 180W PoE budget across 24 powered ports, with a maximum of 15.4W per port. The total allocation limits simultaneous endpoint power delivery. Match both the individual device requirement and the combined demand; this model supplies PoE rather than PoE+.
The SG300-28P provides two dedicated copper Gigabit uplinks and two Gigabit combo connections with SFP cages. MGBSX1 supports multimode fiber to 300 m, and MGBLX1 supports single-mode fiber to 10 km. Each combo connection uses its copper interface or its SFP interface, not both simultaneously.
Yes, SRW2024P-K9 supports static IPv4 routing between VLANs, with 512 static routes and 128 IP interfaces. Routing requires Layer 3 system mode. VLAN rate limiting and QoS policers are not operational in that mode, so those policy dependencies must be checked before selecting a routed configuration.
No, the SG300-28P uses two fans and has a published acoustic noise figure of 40.6 dB. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C. Allow for audible fan operation and maintain the specified ambient conditions rather than treating this PoE model as a silent desktop switch.
SRW2024P-K9 supplies PoE to its access ports, whereas SRW2024-K9 is the non-PoE SG300-28 model. Both belong to the retired 300 family. The powered model corresponds to existing installations supplying endpoint power over Ethernet; the non-PoE model corresponds to installations where endpoint power is provided separately.
SRW2024P-K9 has 24 access ports, while SRW2048-K9 has 48 access ports, excluding their special-purpose uplink connections. Both models are discontinued. The smaller model matches an existing lower-density access installation; the larger chassis corresponds to an existing installation requiring more endpoint connections on one switch.
Yes, SRW2024P-K9 has a full-width rack chassis measuring 440 mm wide, 44.45 mm high and 257 mm deep. Its weight is 4.11 kg. A mounting kit formed part of the original package, so specify the required mounting hardware when ordering a replacement or refurbished unit.
