C1300X-10NU-2X combines 5G multigigabit access and PoE++ in a desktop managed Layer 3 switch for small-business and branch-office networks. Ten fixed RJ-45 access ports connect powered endpoints, while two built-in SFP28 cages provide 10G uplinks without a removable uplink card. The Cisco Catalyst 1300X Series accommodates wireless access points, IP phones, and cameras where connection speed and endpoint power are parts of the same hardware selection. Its compact chassis supports placement outside a wiring closet, with ventilation remaining part of installation planning. C1300X-24NGU-4X increases the shared PoE allocation to 740W for a larger powered inventory. The 10-port multigigabit PoE++ configuration provides the same access speed class across every copper connection.

140 Gbps switching capacity supports wire-speed switching across the fixed port configuration. 104.16 Mpps forwarding performance uses 64-byte packets as its reference, making packet size relevant when comparing traffic profiles. 385W of shared PoE power limits combined endpoint allocations rather than permitting every port to deliver its individual maximum simultaneously. OSPFv2, OSPFv3, RIPv2, static routing, and PBR support routed access configurations. C1300X-10NU-2X pairs 2 GB DRAM with 1 GB flash for on-device software and configuration handling; a 3 MB packet buffer is shared across ports. The customized Linux OS provides browser and CLI administration, while SNMP supports network monitoring. A 32000-entry MAC table accommodates learned endpoint addresses, and 7168 combined dynamic and static IPv4 routes establish the routing scale. Dual software images support upgrade preparation. Normal 25G distribution uplinks are not supported: 25G cage operation is reserved for stacking.
C1300X-10NU-2X is offered new sealed or certified refurbished; specify condition, quantity, and required accessories before placing the PO. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, clean boot, and PoE output under load on every powered port; firmware is verified and configuration wiped to factory default. ORM's warranty is up to 3-year extended on new units and up to 1 year on certified refurbished units, with 30-day returns on every condition, terms apply; Cisco's separate hardware warranty is limited lifetime with return-to-factory replacement. Enterprise and volume POs are accepted, with Net-30 for government, RMA with advance replacement, and regional stock and RMA across UK / EU / US / MEA.

An equipment rollout with centrally staged switches needs an image baseline before units leave the bench. C1300X-10NU-2X requires firmware 4.10.0.85 or later. Confirm the chosen image supports the exact PID, prepare the site configuration, and record the required version on the staging instructions before the PO.
A branch adding routed user, voice, and guest segments needs an interface plan before purchasing new access hardware. The Catalyst 1300X family supports 256 IP interfaces, including physical port, LAG, VLAN, and loopback interfaces. Count the intended routing interfaces and confirm address assignments before specifying the switch on the PO.
An office adding access switching near occupied workspaces needs an acoustic check before choosing the installation position. C1300X-10NU-2X produces 38.9 dBA at 25°C. Assess the proposed location alongside nearby equipment, ventilation access, and the office's noise requirements before specifying placement in the purchase order.
25G distribution uplinks
C1300X-10NU-2X limits normal uplinks to 10G. Its SFP28 cages support 25G only in stacking mode, not for connections to 25G distribution ports.
Fanless operation near occupied workspaces
C1300X-10NU-2X uses one cooling fan rather than passive cooling. Installations requiring fanless hardware must exclude this model; its cooling system does not meet that requirement.
More than 60W per powered port
C1300X-10NU-2X delivers a maximum of 60W per powered access port. The PoE++ designation does not permit a higher per-port allocation for more demanding devices.

C1300X-10NU-2X identifies a Catalyst 1300X switch: C1300X names the series, 10 denotes ten access ports, NU corresponds to 5G 60W PoE++ access, and 2X denotes two 10G SFP28 uplinks. The uplink cages use 25G only for stacking, and the full PID carries no license-tier suffix.
Catalyst 1300X supports a web UI over HTTP/HTTPS, CLI over SSH or Telnet, RJ-45 or USB-C console, Cisco Business Dashboard, Cisco Business mobile app, and SNMP. Bluetooth browser and CLI access is available with a BTD-400 adapter. Specify CAB-CONSOLE-RJ45 or CAB-CONSOLE-USB-C when console access is required.
C1300X-10NU-2X supplies a shared 385W PoE budget across ten ports, each capable of 60W PoE++. The combined per-port maximum is 600W, so the budget does not permit all ten ports to deliver 60W simultaneously. Check each endpoint's negotiated requirement and configure power priorities before connecting the complete powered inventory.
C1300X-10NU-2X has two fixed SFP28 cages for 10G uplinks; 25G operation is reserved for stacking. SFP-10G-SR supports multimode fiber connections, while SFP-10G-LR supports single-mode fiber. Specify compatible optics for the cable plant and far-end interfaces; the fixed cages do not require a removable uplink expansion card.
Catalyst 1300X Front Panel Stacking connects eight members, including C1300X-10NU-2X, as one system. Catalyst 1300 switches cannot join that stack. SFP-25G-AOC1M is a 1 m 25G active optical cable option; reserve front-panel cages for stack links and confirm cable lengths and remaining uplink connections before ordering.
C1300X-10NU-2X supports static routing, RIPv2, PBR, OSPFv2, and OSPFv3 as a managed Layer 3 switch. The Catalyst 1300X IPv4 routing limit is 7168 combined dynamic and static routes, with 256 IP interfaces. Size the route and interface plan against those totals rather than assuming an unlimited routing table.
C1300X-10NU-2X requires no separately purchased switch license or software subscription. Catalyst 1300X software updates are available without a license or service contract requirement. Included switch functionality does not depend on choosing a network license tier or renewing a switch software term, so the hardware order needs no separate switch software entitlement.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 1300X. C1300X-10NU-2X remains an available member of the series. Buyers can specify the existing PID rather than a lifecycle replacement and should keep support eligibility separate from the condition and warranty terms attached to the hardware order.
ORM Systems offers C1300X-10NU-2X new sealed or certified refurbished, with up to a 3-year extended warranty on new units and up to 1 year on refurbished units. Returns are available for 30 days on every condition; terms apply. Cisco's separate hardware warranty is limited lifetime with return-to-factory replacement.
C1300X-24NGU-4X provides a 740W PoE budget compared with 385W for C1300X-10NU-2X. The difference changes aggregate power availability, not the actual draw of attached devices. C1300X-10NU-2X fits an endpoint inventory within 385W; C1300X-24NGU-4X accommodates a power plan requiring the larger shared allocation.
C1300X-10NU-2X provides 5G copper access connections, while C1300X-24MU-4X provides 2.5G copper access connections. That distinction matters when endpoints negotiate beyond 2.5G; each endpoint's interface still limits its usable link speed. C1300X-10NU-2X addresses 5G access requirements, whereas C1300X-24MU-4X matches endpoint plans limited to 2.5G.
C1300X-48NGU-4X has 48 RJ-45 access ports, compared with ten on C1300X-10NU-2X. The larger model combines 40 Gigabit ports with eight 5G ports, rather than providing multigigabit speed on every connection. C1300X-10NU-2X fits a ten-endpoint inventory; C1300X-48NGU-4X addresses denser wired port requirements with that mixed-speed arrangement.
C1300X-10NU-2X requires 4.10.0.85 as its minimum supported firmware version. Units being added to a staged deployment or stack need an image compatible with the exact PID. Record the required software baseline, verify the intended image, and review configuration migration before putting replacement hardware into service.
C1300X-10NU-2X is a desktop-sized Catalyst 1300X switch, not a full-width rack chassis. It measures 268 x 308 x 43.94 mm and weighs 3.03 kg. Allow at least 76 mm of clearance around ventilation openings, and confirm the mounting arrangement before specifying installation accessories for the site.
