The Catalyst 9300X-M uses a 1U rack chassis and a modular uplink bay rather than fixed fiber uplinks; the base configuration does not include an uplink module. Permitted fiber modules provide 25G or 100G uplink architectures, subject to this model’s module-port restrictions. Meraki Enterprise or Advanced licensing supplies the cloud software entitlement without an embedded perpetual Network license. C9300X-48HXN-A retains the same copper configuration but includes Network Advantage instead. C9300X-48HXN-M carries 16 GB of DRAM and 16 GB of flash for software execution and image storage, with a 16 MB packet buffer for queued traffic. The forwarding hardware accommodates 32000 MAC entries. Meraki dashboard provides centralized configuration, health monitoring and event review, while Cloud CLI adds command-line access. C9300X-48HXN-M identifies a Catalyst 9300X switch with 48 copper access ports, mixed 5G/10G multigigabit speeds, UPOE+ and modular uplinks. C9300X is the family prefix; 48 is the port count; HXN denotes that hardware configuration; M selects Meraki Enterprise or Advanced software licensing rather than a Network Essentials or Network Advantage suffix.
Catalyst 9300X-M is managed through the web-based Meraki dashboard, with Cloud CLI providing command-line access. Administrators configure ports, review switch health and events, run remote cable tests and capture packets centrally. Configuration templates also allow settings to be prepared before switches arrive at their installation sites.

C9300X-NM-8Y-M and C9300X-NM-2C-M are fiber uplink options for C9300X-48HXN-M, covering 1G/10G/25G SFP28 and 40G/100G QSFP28 connections respectively. The base configuration contains no uplink module. This hardware configuration restricts usable module ports, so select the module and compatible optics against the required connection count rather than the module’s nominal port count.
Eight switches form a Catalyst 9300X-M StackWise-1T stack with 1000 Gbps stacking bandwidth. C9300X-48HXN-M uses STACK-T1-50CM-M, STACK-T1-1M-M or STACK-T1-3M-M cables for the required spacing. A mixed stack containing Catalyst 9300-M operates at 480 Gbps instead, and stack members must use matching license levels.
PWR-C1-1100WAC-P-M is the standard 1100W AC power supply for C9300X-48HXN-M, and the second internal supply bay is empty by default. Add another compatible supply when the order requires internal power redundancy or a larger shared PoE allocation. Select the supply configuration before sizing the total powered-endpoint demand.
C9300X-48HXN-M supplies UPOE+ endpoint power, while C9300X-48TX-M is data-only. Both belong to the modular-uplink Catalyst 9300X-M range. Select the powered model when access-port connections must also deliver electricity to endpoints; the data-only model suits equipment receiving power from separate adapters, supplies or another electrical source.
C9300X-48HXN-M uses Meraki Enterprise or Advanced term licensing, whereas C9300X-48HXN-A includes perpetual Network Advantage with separate subscription licensing. The copper access-port layout is unchanged between these variants. The Meraki model suits dashboard-managed orders; the -A model suits purchases requiring the Network Advantage software entitlement and its associated licensing path.

Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst 9300X-M. C9300X-48HXN-M therefore has no announced hardware sales cutoff or named lifecycle replacement. Software-release retirements are separate events and must not be treated as retirement of the physical switch hardware or as instructions to purchase a successor.
