IE-3000-4TC identifies an Industrial Ethernet 3000 switch: IE denotes Industrial Ethernet, 3000 identifies the family, and 4TC identifies four 10/100 access ports with two dual-purpose copper/SFP Gigabit uplinks. The unsuffixed configuration includes the Layer 2 LAN Base software image rather than IP Services.
IE-3000-4TC supports Device Manager and Express Setup web access, console/Telnet/SSHv2 CLI access, Cisco Network Assistant, Cisco Prime LMS 4.2, Cisco DNA Center, PROFINET tools, and SNMPv1/v2/v3 management. SSHv2 and encrypted SNMPv3 require a cryptographic software image; DNA Center uses separate DNA Essentials licensing.
IE-3000-4TC is discontinued and unsupported: end of sale was June 30, 2020, and Cisco support ended June 30, 2025. Security vulnerability support ended June 30, 2023. Existing routed installations use the IP Services configuration, while Layer 2-only legacy installations use LAN Base without assuming that similar part numbers include identical routing capabilities.
IE-3300-8T2S-E provides Gigabit access ports where IE-3000-4TC provides 10/100 access ports, and IE-3300-8T2S-E is the current non-PoE migration option. The replacement also has eight copper access ports instead of four. Legacy Fast Ethernet maintenance and a new Gigabit access purchase therefore require different hardware specifications.
IE-3000-4TC has no PoE output on its base access ports. IEM-3000-4PC= adds four PoE/PoE+ ports but is discontinued and requires external power: 44-57V DC for PoE or 50-57V DC for PoE+. Specify the module and power arrangement explicitly; the base switch alone cannot power endpoints.
