IE-3000-8TC-E is a fanless Layer 3 industrial switch with eight 10/100 copper access ports, two fixed dual-purpose Gigabit uplinks, and the IP Services image installed. When an existing control cabinet needs additional endpoint connections, the base unit accepts two IEM-3000-8TM= copper expansion modules, one IEM-3000-8FM= fiber expansion module, or one of each. These combinations add access interfaces without replacing the base switch. Specify the copper or fiber module combination separately on the purchase order.
When replacement hardware must enter an encrypted administration environment, SSHv2 and cryptographic SNMPv3 require the corresponding cryptographic software image. The IP Services designation alone does not identify that image variant. Before releasing the staged unit, check the required management image and record that requirement against the hardware purchase.
When several control cabinets need the same external fault indication, the base switch exposes two independent alarm relays for major and minor events. Environmental, power, and port conditions can be assigned to either relay through the CLI. Specify the alarm wiring and event mapping with each cabinet's purchase requirements.

The eight built-in access ports stop at 100 Mbps. IE-3300-8T2S-A is the current non-PoE replacement with eight Gigabit copper access ports and two Gigabit SFP uplinks.

IP Services is installed on IE-3000-8TC-E; DNA Essentials is a separate 3-year or 5-year subscription for Cisco DNA Center functions. IE3000-DNA-E-L-3Y and IE3000-DNA-E-L-5Y identify those term options. The subscription functions include centralized inventory, software image management, automation, and assurance rather than changing the supplied IP Services configuration.
Industrial Ethernet 3000 switches provide two fixed dual-purpose uplinks, each selectable as 10/100/1000 copper or SFP fiber, with one connection active. GLC-SX-MM-RGD= and GLC-LX-SM-RGD= are compatible Gigabit fiber options. The shared interfaces are built into the base unit and do not provide 10G connectivity.
No, IE-3000-8TC-E does not supply PoE on its built-in access ports. PoE expansion requires IEM-3000-4PC= or IEM-3000-4PC-4TC= and a separate power source. Each adds four PoE/PoE+ ports; the modules require 44-57V DC for PoE or 50-57V DC for PoE+.
