Line-rate forwarding accommodates every port at every packet size. OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and ISIS support routed connections under Network Advantage. IE-3400H-24FT-A includes 4 GB DRAM and 1.5 GB user-accessible flash. Optional SD storage is not included by default.
Specify IE-3400H-24FT-A in new sealed or certified refurbished condition, together with the required power and connection accessories. Certified refurbished units are inspected and bench-tested for power-on and POST, rated-speed links on every port, and clean boot; firmware is verified and configurations are wiped to factory default. New units carry up to a three-year extended ORM warranty, refurbished units up to one year, and every condition has 30-day returns with terms applying. When adding switching to a machine panel, reserve 50.8 mm clearance above, below, beside, and in front of the chassis. Allow room for cable connections rather than sizing the location around chassis dimensions alone. Confirm the mounting location and cable routing before issuing the PO.
When staging equipment before installation, specify CAB-CONSOLE-M12= for direct console access. The console connection uses an M12 connector rather than a conventional console socket. Include the cable on the equipment list and establish the intended management configuration before releasing units to installation personnel.
Gigabit connections to industrial endpoints
The fixed interfaces stop at 100 Mbps. IE-3400H-24T-A provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet M12 X-coded interfaces with Network Advantage; the connector coding also changes.
PoE power for connected endpoints
The Ethernet interfaces provide connectivity without PoE output. Connected devices requiring power through Ethernet need a separate power arrangement; the external switch supply does not change that limitation.

IE-3400H identifies Catalyst IE3400 Heavy Duty; 24 identifies the interface count; FT identifies Fast Ethernet; A identifies Network Advantage. IE-3400H-24FT-A has M12 interfaces, not RJ-45 access ports.
Catalyst IE3400 Heavy Duty supports WebUI, console CLI, SSH, Telnet, SNMP, Common Industrial Protocol, Industrial Network Director, and Cisco Catalyst Center. NETCONF and RESTCONF support automated configuration.
Cisco has not announced an end-of-sale date for Catalyst IE3400 Heavy Duty. Software-release and accessory retirement notices are separate from the hardware lifecycle of IE-3400H-24FT-A.
ORM Systems offers IE-3400H-24FT-A new sealed or certified refurbished. Cisco's platform warranty is five-year limited hardware coverage. ORM provides up to a three-year extended warranty on new units and up to one year on refurbished units. Returns are 30 days for either condition; terms apply.
IE-3400H-24FT-A includes perpetual Network Advantage. Optional Cisco DNA Essentials and Cisco DNA Advantage subscriptions start at three years; five- and seven-year terms also exist. Subscription renewal is separate from the perpetual network tier.
